Planting by Ag-Cat, literature
A tree falls down in the forest. Its death is not a surprise, and one day its friends would follow it, losing their struggles to the Choking and the Hollow, but for now, they hold on; and for now, they watch as sunlight shone through the gap in the canopy, setting the stage for the dead one’s funeral. A tree funeral is a long affair, conducted by fungi and attended by woodlice, beetles and many other creatures. Tiny creatures that seem to rise, fall then disappear in an instant when the trees aren’t paying attention. Then again, most creatures are too short-lived and fast to the trees. There is a moment of stillness, as if the trees are holding their breath. Then there, emerging from the soil, the green shoots of the young ones. So young that time still feel fast to them. The trees knew that most of them won’t

Today we're getting into another facet of adopables: OC fashion! @CherrysDesigns will be walking us through what it's like to create and sell outfit designs through subscriptions and commissions. And don't forget, we also feature her answers on our official Facebook page. What drew you to adoptable clothing designs? How did you get into the adoptable community? What drew me to adoptable clothing designs was more of a coincidence. When I joined DeviantArt, I saw someone designing clothing and selling those and I thought "I want try that myself," because I felt like I had a lot more freedom in designing and the skillset needed. My goal always was to make money with my art and this seemed to be a good opportunity to start my journey. The designs I found that happen to

What is Web3? by team, journal
What is Web3?
Savvy internet users like yourself have no doubt come across the phrase "Web3" in recent months. Don't know what that means? Nobody does! You're not alone. The concept currently exists as a vague groundwork that's tricky to clearly define because, like every iteration of the web, its potential isn't completely fleshed out. Yet. With this journal, you can start to get an idea of what it could be one day, and how it will shape the landscape of the web. As you may know, the internet was "invented" in the 1960s, but that was more about nerds technology enthusiasts sending "Hello World" to each other from different rooms in MIT and then running to the hallway to high-five each other. The internet as most consumers knew it – Web1 – was invented sometime around the early '90s around the time PCs started cropping up in homes. Web1 is sometimes referred to as "Read-Only internet," where the majority read and interacted with information uploaded by a savvy few with the technical know-how to

The Blizzard 2nd Draft by THEMYSTERYWRITER, literature
The Blizzard 2nd Draft
Day 44, Nothing has changed as I, Sir Reginald Alexander, press ever onward through this exploration I’ve found myself in. As you know, in the year of our Lord 1897, I set forth to become the first man alive to reach the center of Antarctica. I sailed from London on the 18th of May and arrived at my destination within three months. I began my solo expedition, pressing onward into the white wilderness. That was 44 days ago, and now I fear I may never return to civilization. A bloody blizzard came out of nowhere, creating a blanket of snow and blocking any visualization of my path ahead. The wind has been howling for days, and I find myself trapped in my little tent. Rations are running low; my extremities have grown numb as frostbite has begun to set in. Yet I must continue my journey to the center and hope to see the horizon again. My compass still points north, and so I have a way. I will not turn back until I achieve my goal. Day 57, I have been walking for days, and the dead
