Feature: Drawing Humans and Undiscovered Art
This curated feature is brought to you by @BeckyKidus It’s May, and people who follow me know I’m in the middle of a feature series showcasing tutorials and undiscovered artwork. The first part of this feature includes tutorials related to drawing human figures, and the second part is a selection of artwork I’ve discovered recently with fewer than 50 favourites. I post a feature like this once a month, on or around the 15th. If you’d like to see more features like this, previous features I’ve put together are linked at the bottom of this journal. I hope you're able to make use of these great tutorials and enjoy beautiful art you may not have seen! Tutorials: How to Draw Humans Drawing humans can be complex, so to keep things simple, I’ve broken this tutorial feature down into sections. The first section covers general body proportions, and the sections that follow will cover heads, faces, hands, and feet. Proportions To start, @Anastasia-berry created references covering basic

Dress up for the Adoptables Party!
Create an adoptable with a specific palette and submit it with the tag #AdoptableParty to attend, and get a party favor in the form of a Profile badge! To add to the fun of the beta launch of Adoptables, DeviantArt is hosting a party for custom creations, and you’re invited to the colorful celebration! If you’re not familiar, adoptables are one-of-a-kind works of art that interested buyers can adopt from artists. In most cases, these are character designs (often human, anthropomorphic, mystical creatures, otherworldly beings, or entirely new species), outfits, or accessories. Get on the guest list! To join the festivities, create an adoptable using the following color palette: #9EFC36, #FF83EB, #6B6FFF Once you’ve created your attendee, submit it as a deviation with the tag #AdoptableParty by June 7th to get a brand new badge for your Profile! Want some inspiration on what to wear to the party? Check out these styles from early attendees: Digital Dragon by @Sindonic

Celebrating Deviousness - June 2023
The Deviousness Award is given to one deviant each month in recognition of their exemplary contributions to DeviantArt and its community and has been a long-standing tradition since DeviantArt’s early years. @LualaDy is the recipient of June 2023’s Deviousness Award, so please join us in congratulating her! @LualaDy has been a community rockstar for a very long time, and her long-standing work to promote other artists and ensure their work gets seen by a wider audience is near-unmatched. She has posted art features on a daily basis for multiple years—some days posting more than one feature at a time—while also running groups that feature even more artwork. For her continuous dedication to the artists of the DeviantArt community, we are proud to name @LualaDy the recipient of the Deviousness Award for June 2023. Hi! Hello, it's me. I do stuff. Sometimes. Sometimes I don't. I draw, paint, crochet, knit, write, and take photos. And I do maths! I'm pretty good at maths. Oh, and I sew

Save what you love with Private Collections!
Use Private Collections to create personal collections of art just for you. A highly requested community feature over the years, Private Collections lets you collect art you like without showing it to the world. Whether you’re collecting pieces for an art feature and want to keep it secret until it’s ready, appreciating fan art from a show you consider a guilty pleasure, or want to save mature content without displaying it on your Profile, Private Collections will help you save the art you love. How Private Collections Work Privately collect artwork by clicking on the new Private Collections icon on the deviation page. Private Collections work very similarly to regular Collections—you can create multiple, give them distinct names, and sort and organize them as you see fit. When you add artwork to a Private Collection, the artist will be notified that you added their work to a Private Collection; however, they will not be told the name of your Private Collection. Your Private

Creating the covers of Battle Dragons by team, journal
Creating the covers of Battle Dragons
Digital artist @ERA7 has found industry success over the years creating the cover images for a traditionally published book series, as well as 3D animation and more. Learn what inspires her, how she became a professional artist, and discover what tips, tricks, and advice she has for artists! An Interview with @ERA7 How would you describe your art style to someone who has never seen your art before? I would describe it as a mixture of digital oil painting with 3D technologies, photobashing, matte painting, and overpainting. I work in different styles from cartoonish-comic to realism. When did you first start making art, and what inspired you to do it? According to my parents, I created my first drawing when I was 3 and have continued nonstop. My main inspiration has always been to show people things that don't exist: fantastic worlds, technology, and characters. I was greatly impressed by cinema, especially Disney films from the '90s. I realized I wanted to create something similar

Requested improvements to Adoptables offers by team, journal
Requested improvements to Adoptables offers
Adoptables sellers can now select when their sale period will start, and offers now display in the right sidebar on the deviation page for easier tracking and offering! Adoptables launched as a beta feature in March, and in response to community feedback, the DeviantArt team has been working on improvements to make the feature more efficient. Two improvements have just been released, and you can try them out now! New Sale Duration Options Previously, when an adoptable was listed as accepting offers, the sale duration would start immediately when the seller completed the listing process. Now when you list an adoptable with the “accept offers” option, you can still set 24 or 48 hours as the sale duration period, but you can also choose between two settings to determine when that period starts: The sale duration starts immediately after you list the adoptable for sale, or The sale duration starts after the first offer is placed. When a seller selects the second option, the adoptable
