Tutorial: Draw an Arctic Fox! by BeckyKidus, journal
Tutorial: Draw an Arctic Fox!
It's November, and winter is coming - or has come - for most of us. So what better creature to draw than an arctic fox, all poofy in their winter fur? (And even if winter isn't coming your way, who can resist them?)
Because that's what we'll be doing! And if you follow the steps and post your artwork with the hashtag #ArcticFoxTutorial, you'll also get a special badge:
I have drawn this with your good old graphite pencil and some colored pencils, but you can obviously use other traditional and digital media as well Without further ado, let's begin!
Step 1: Draw a circle, and divide it into four parts.
Step 2: Let's get the most important details added, namely the eyes and the nose. The top of the nose should be halfway between the center and the lower edge of the circle. Also remember that arctic foxes, like other foxes, have small noses compared to dogs and wolves!
Step 3: Time to add the muzzle! Each whisker pad is a nosewidth wide, and has a rounded "smiling" shape. I've

Feature: Writing tutorials + undiscovered art
It is time to feature more tutorials and undiscovered art! :dummy:
As usual, the feature will be divided into two parts. The first part includes tutorials on how to design characters and creatures, and the second part is a selection of artwork I’ve discovered recently with fewer than 50 favourites.
Previous features are linked at the bottom of the journal, and I post a new feature each month on my profile, usually around the 15th :la:
This month, we'll focus on an art form which can be a bit hidden on DA, namely writing. There are a lot of good stories, fan fiction and poetry out there, though - as well as some excellent tutorials on writing!
First, we'll start with... well, story writing. @illuminara and @OokamiKasumi start us off by giving some tips on how to start writing in general, as well as giving some beginner tips. illuminara also has an enlightening guide on how to write your first draft, and then @MomoPoms gives some great advice on how to write good fanfiction

Fan Art Fridays: Fall Photography
"Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go."
THE CHANGE IN SEASON
Autumn in the wilderness unfurls like a grand symphony, each leaf a delicate note in nature's orchestral embrace. The forests, once brimming with summer's vibrancy, now glow with the burnished hues of gold, amber, and crimson, as if kissed by the setting sun.
The air, crisp and invigorating, carries the sweet scent of pine and earth, mingling with the whisper of wind through the changing foliage of trees and brush alike. Every step upon the soft, mossy ground is a pilgrimage, a journey through nature's temple, where the stillness of the season invites contemplation and wonder.
In the quietude of autumn, the mountains stand sentinel, their peaks dusted with the first snow of winter's approach, while the valleys below are blanketed in the soft, golden light of shortening days. The rivers, once roaring with the snow-melt of spring, now flow gently, mirroring the vibrant tapestry of the canopy above. Here

X-MEN AND ITS CHARACTERS ARE OWNED BY STAN LEE AND MARVEL COMICS.
NO MONEY WAS MADE BY THIS FANFICTION. I WROTE THIS PURELY AS A FUN CHALLENGE.
PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF GAMBIT AND ROGUE TOGETHER AS A COUPLE.
(AUTHORS NOTE: • A simple "what if" scenario where Rogue is forced to face the consequences of her choices and behaviour from X-Men97, season one.
• Part One: "Just Another Day Without You"
Part Two: "Find The Right Lines"
• Continues on directly after "Find The Right Lines."
• There will be a bit of a dialogue reference between Cyclops and Magneto from the "X-Men 2024, issue #7" comic series. It will appear slightly altered to fit my idea, but seeing the tension between Cyclops and Magneto inspired me to include it.)
DON'T WANNA HOLD ON TO NEVER by NessaJayn (C) 2024, Nov 24th.
"Death is feared by all, Magneto. Regardless of what they fight for. The name's Gambit, mon ami. Remember it!" Remy growled as Death's toxic gas swirled around the old man.

Watching the Sky
Sylvia and Amie sat in the grass together, watching the sunset.
"It's pretty, isn't it?" Amie said. She laid in Sylvia's lap.
"The last drop of sunlight for now," Sylvia said. "It's beautiful."
Amie smiled. "And on the other side of the world, they see the first drop of sunlight."
Sylvia bent down to kiss Amie on the forehead. "We should get up early to see our side's first drop of sunlight."
"Tomorrow morning?" Amie asked.
"Any morning."
"Tomorrow morning would be nice. Hey, look, the moon is rising!" Amie pointed in the opposite direction of the sun.
Sylvia grinned. "Our first drop of moonlight!"
Amie grabbed Sylvia's hand. "I could watch the motions of the sky with you forever."
"That would be fun. Like chasing the first and last drops of every light in the sky. Sunlight, moonlight…"
"Starlight might be difficult."
Sylvia nodded. "Since there are so many."
"Let's turn around to watch the moon."
"But I'm so comfortable!"
Amie laughed. "If we turn around we can
