Airbrushing Wolf Fursuit Bodysuit by zyxwen Airbrushing Wolf Fursuit Bodysuit by zyxwen
It took some time to get this done. Duct-Tape-Dummy, pattern, test suit out of cheap fabric, cutting the fur, sewing all together, trimming the fur and finally the airbrushing. Ah, and a lot of brushing the fur.

I really don't like how the brown turned out, but whats done is done.

So to be 100% clear, you made it so there was enough leave way for the foam, but the foam isnt attached to anything?

Yes, thats right. The foam used is filter foam which is used in pumps to filter water. Its pretty sturdy, so it keeps its shape and can be cut into shape using a box cutter. The patterns for the bodysuit is made with the foam paddings in mind, so that they fit snugly in the spot between my body and the fur. Its simple and works really well.

I'm using a Duct-Tape-Dummy to create the patterns.

Oh my, I'm really bad at replying to question. Sorry for that.

The paddings are cut out of a foam blocks and are just put into the right places while putting on the bodysuit. Because they are foam, they keep their shape and won't move while performing in the costume.

I can't really tell you what you got to pay for a fursuit or just the bodysuit as I'm not selling or buying any. I just build them for my personal use.

The bodysuit wasn't that difficult. Its pretty much a straightforward process once you got a duct tape dummy.

I got all my knowledge from using Google. So its best to start searching for "duct tape dummy", patterns and sewing.

I searched...but how do you sew with digitgrade/faun legs?

The digitgrade legs are sewn out of two parts, one for the inside and one for the outside of the leg. If you look at the picture you can see the seam on the back and front of the legs.

Ok, so for my fursuit the legs would be separated to sew on?

Yes, the legs are separate on my bodysuit. I got a chest pice, two halfs for the back with a zipper in the middle, a inside/outside for each leg and a inside/outside for each arm.

The colors I'm using are Createx Classic Transparent. As long as you brush the fur while painting it, the fur will stay smooth.

Thanks for replying. I can only found Createx Opaque color at local store, is that any different between Transparent and Opaque?

I don't have any experience with the opaque colors. Someone told me that its easier to get shadings done with the transparent colors, because they are not 100% opaque.

So basically the first time your airbrush over an area with a transparent black, you get a grey. The second time you brush over it you get a dark grey, the third time you will get a black.

Though, like I said I'm a newbie to airbrushing and I just repeat what I got told.
