For a novice in underwater photography, this is truly an awe-inspiring shot. The gradient of light to dark for the background while giving me the impression of having been done in a studio, know that such an unearthly beauty as this jellyfish is, had to have been taken in the warmer climes nearer to the equator; which is why the water is so crystal clear and a great choice of backdrop.

The photographer has caught in this single shot, not only the incredible diversity of life here on this planet, but also sparks for this Mad Scientist, a feeling of a picture taken of a creature not of this Earth.

I count myself lucky to have come across this picture almost 3 years later, and am surprised this hadn't gotten nominated for a daily deviation.
