I was looking at SunkissedSam's fave's and saw this. I have to say, wow this is amazing! If you don't mind sharing with me, i'd love to know how you created the sparkles that are the fairies.

Well I used a brushset in Photoshop to create the shapes, then duplicated the Layer 3 or 4 times and used the gaussian blur tool on these layers increasingly. Like e.g. Copy1 of LayerXY 5%, Copy2 of LayerXY 10%, Copy3 of LayerXY 20%, and so on. This creates the glow effect. Then I set these layers to screen (or color dodge, can't remember). For extra glow you can multiply some of the blurred layers. Finally you can merge all of these layers with stars and use the eraser or mask tool (very softly!) to create depth. There you go... :D

I love this fairytopia,it's grungy and has alot of movement in it.....the sparkle fairies are the best!
