This is what my first doll looks like at the moment. I've painted it once, but I need to add some more colour to it and work on the details. The skin is a bit too pale.
I'm not sure if I want to add a shimmer in the eyes. When I'm done with the painting I'll add gloss to them anyway and then they'll shimmer depending on light sources. Maybe it would just look weird if I also painted them with a shimmer. I don't know. I'll have to look around for inspiration.
This doll wont have any ears. I have made ears on a couple of other dolls head I made after this one but didn't feel confident enough when making this one. So, no ears. I'll solve it some other way.
The hands are not quite finished yet, but so far they look like this:
They are much more red than the face. Right now, in comparison, it looks as if they are scalded by hot water or something. Apart from that, I'm quite pleased with my first set of hands.
The feet are done and baked, but I haven't documented that yet. Here's what they looked like a couple of days ago:
I also hade an upper body and two lower arms, but that's it right now. The body wont look realistic, and I'm even concidering making it very intentionally not realistic. Like, giving the doll a mechanic or in other way syntetic body. As if it's not even supposed to be a fully human doll. This way I could add something else to replace ears. Like, som Chobits-styled headthings or something that I can glue on.
I have decided that it will be a male doll, but I haven't decided a name yet. Feel free to give me suggestions, but I'll be picky and if I the name doesn't feel right I'll prefer to wait before naming it.
That's as far as I've got at the moment. There's still a lot of work to do but it's coming along. I'm confident that I'll finish it, at least.
