I love this! You kept the simplicity a resume is suppose to have with the text you included and the layout while adding that splash (literally) to make it unique. Great work

thats probably too brief for a resume. It needs an identifying mark that makes sense to someone who hasn't seen it before in the upper area preferably to the left, so they know what they are looking at straight away.

I would also put a career acheivements type section, noone reads a resume in full - they just scan for the juicy bits, so do yourself a favor and put the best things you have done in a section near the top to impress them early.

ty for the comment.

well id hope whoever im sending my resume to has seen one before...i dont think figuring out its my resume should be too ill be sent out with my cover letter which refers you to my resume :D i didnt want to go with a convential layout where the text heirarchy is one right on top of the other. wanted to engage the viewer as much as i can.

i was thinking: i am a designer as such i wanted there to be a design...the drip catches ur eye as the focal point and leads you to my name( i want them to remember the name). from my name u naturally head for body copy which is the last thing to be read in any advertisement so thats why i didnt opt to make it the intial focus of the resume. if all i wanted to do is present my achievements i would have set this up in a word document and make it nice and vanilla(vanilla copies are for human resources) :D. im a student at this point so i dont have much to put in there as of yet. also like you said no one likes to read...thats why i went with the list setup instead of writting complete sentences.
dugebag Featured By Owner May 14, 2005   Interface Designer
well i dont really think the whole name thing works because of the weight of the text on the right. Also your resume is going to be in a pile of 50 or more others, isn't it a disadvantage to not have text in the top left if they flick through them?

If I were you I would send 2 resumes to each job, a fancy art one like this and a conventional one.

i can see what your saying...but ive been told by others thats how they read it. we read left to right normally(here in the states anyway). also printed material has a different effect on the viewer than something seen on the computer monitor. what youre seeing is 72dpi...i printed 300dpi on 73lb photo paper. ty for the comments.
dugebag Featured By Owner May 15, 2005   Interface Designer
it being 300 dpi makes no effect whatsoever on the composition and that is the thing I am questioning.
