With the newest version of Blender fully released on all consumer platforms, many new features have arrived that not only makes Blender easier to use for 3D animators and modelers, but it also provides ground-breaking new tools for VFX artists, video editors, and even 2D animators.
Before then, Blender was seen as a very hobbyist tool (makes sense since it's freeware), but new animation companies have adopted Blender as the software to use in their movie projects. In 2014, DeviantArt turned 14 years old. Fourteen years is a long time, some of you reading this may be younger than that. I've gathered some historical information with the help of Moonbeam13 (https://www.deviantart.com/moonbeam13) and some members of the Community Relations team to help enlighten those of you who have joined in recent years and missed out on a chunk of DeviantArt's life.
