Here is another picture from China. This was taken from the Great Wall.

To be perfectly honest, I edited it a little to increase the contrast, pick out the distant mountains a little more, and brighten the foliage. The essence of the moment, however, remains unchanged.

are you kidding me? this looks like it was made in bryce, the way it's so monotone, no sky, even light, seemingly one big texture over it all. don't you think so? and, so, knowing it is a photo... a weird look it has.

Haha. To be fair, it IS slightly edited. I thought the original was a little dull. Here, I'll edit the description to better inform viewers.

oh, yeah. the camera never quite captures it; editing to keep the "essence of the moment" is a good way to put it. but what i say about it looking like a 3d program i think would be true regardless of the edits, although i don't know for i haven't seen the original. what do you think?

I like the concept of variation on a constant theme, and this mountain range certainly demonstrates this. The further mountains are hidden in fog, while those which are nearer are green, oily green. What a contrast!

The breadth of the mountains and the treatment of light is particularly successful.

Breathtaking!
