Voss and Richthofen Postcard by zulumike Voss and Richthofen Postcard by zulumike
Richthofen confers with Voss of Jasta 11 prior to a morning mission.

I have always admired the WW I German postcards. The colored paintings were done by some of the finest artists of the day. The aviators were heros of the day.

This is a concept of a old postcard. The Background is a screenshot of the Albatross with sky and groundwork. I then colorize a BW photo and superimposed it to the BG. Final painting and editing is completed using Photoshop.

Thanks for Looking.

Cheers, Mike

Oh yes, blind idealism mixed with dreadful consequences. That was the First World War for sure.

At the time he was killed in World War I Werner Voss was second to Manfred Von Richtofen as holder of a successful "Kill" Record in Germany. This is one of the few times i have seen his image on this site. Thank you.
