Advocate D'Janith walked through the crystal tower of Drenaya, looking out over the city sprawling below. The capital had grown significantly in recent years, the farmers and tradesman from the outlying villages suffering the ill effects of the year long drought that had affected the surrounding areas. D'Janith walked through the hallways swiftly, he knew his way, having been brought up in the tower since early childhood. The servants and fellow advocates that he passed nodded their acknowledgements to him as he swiftly walked toward the audience chamber, he had only been called before the council of the crystal court twice before, the first time to have his entrance into the tower officially recognised, the second to have his rank of Advocate bestowed. The large emerald doors of the audience chamber silently swung open as he entered, the chamber was always brightly lit, with all 17 council members sitting in their crystalline chairs. D'Janith's eyes scanned the council, unchanged sinc

The Story of Ral
The lightning rail shunted back and forth, Maribeth was sitting in between two rather rotund ladies, neither noticed her all that much, both engaged in reading their newspapers. Maribeth excused herself, got up and walked to one of the other carriages…
The sound of a dice game came as a welcome relief to Durgan, it'd been weeks since the elf had laid hands on a set of bones. He learnt the game quickly enough, similar to 'Two Sixes', from Aundair, it was called Two Fat Ladies here though. The irony slid over Durgan like water off a duck's back. Hours passed, his purse grew fatter, fat enough for one or two of his fellow gamblers to start asking questions, Durgan hated questions, time to move carriages, with a bow and a smile Durgan left the men to their game, thanking them in turn for the winnings he was carrying away.
Xander Fry knew the dining cart before even opening the door, the smell of cooking food and rotting waste combined to form the unique smell of a lightning rail kitchen. X

The Story of Nalchael
Nalchael stood on the hilltop, looking down on the horror that remained from the battle. The battlefield was strewn with bodies, mortal blood coated the ground, soaking in to make a sticky red mud. Thousands died here, all for the mistakes made by angels foolish enough to think they knew better than Him.
"It was a grand victory Nalchael, you're strategy was flawless, as usual." The voice of Ezekial broke Nalchael's reverie, the general always made him feel uncomfortable.
"My foreseeing should not be mistaken as military strategy my lord, I merely tell you where the enemy will be, it is up to you to use the information." The same lies flowed from his lips effortlessly now, it had not been long since he could barely think falsehoods, the mortals have had more affect on them than any realised.
"All the same, the Grand Marshal wished to send his personal gratitude, tomorrow we move toward the Host's camp to the south, we plan to drive them to the sea, Grand Marshal would like to know of an

The Story of Telen Kebian
Graek Kebian looked over his shoulder, the celebration was just beginning. Three days ago his first son was born. Today was the celebration of the birth; the entire town had arrived to celebrate. He wished they'd all just leave him.
"Come Graek, and stop moping, at least you got a boy!"  Tomas Grendal's booming voice brought Graek out of his reverie, "Sorry Tomas, I'll be along shortly, just need to check the barn."
"Well hurry up old man, the mead'll not stay flowing all night!" the rotund man stumbled off toward the light, Graek turned toward the shadow.
His mind lost in thoughts of half remembered promises and anxious wishes that it was all a dream, he did not notice the several yards of walking between the paddock and the barn, just as he thought he'd figured a way of avoiding his inevitable fate the barn loomed over him, it doors swinging ajar like a great maw, threatening to devour everything. The darkness within seemed total, but he pushed on without a lamp or torch, h

I Hate Psykers
"I hate psykers," the thought repeated itself over and over in Matteu Hokinesse's head, over and over.
"So? Do we have a deal Hokinesse? Will you and what remains of you gang serve me?" The tall man standing over Matteu asked, confidence oozing from every pore in his body. Matteu kneeled in the middle of what could only be described as a slaughter house, the bodies of his men, the bodies of his enemies, their blood everywhere. The Dragons had the advantage, 30 psykers, they'd been brought down to 6, 6 stinking pieces of filth, standing there in their robes and looking as if they knew all the secrets of the universe.
"Go kiss a scabber you piece of filth," Matteu spat at the man.
"A shame Matteu, I'd hoped you'd see things my way." With a motion of his hand a man to the left of the tall one stepped forward, the chainsword in his hand flaring into life.
Matteu always figured he'd die like this, the Necomundan under-hive isn't the best place to spend ones childhood, and his time with the

Gwynn's Story
The old mule reared up again, whinnying as a squirrel scampered across the pathway,
"oh settle down Tobias, it's only a squirrel for Melynlas' sake!" Gwynn pulled the reins in as the mule grunted and strained at the bridle, Gwynn felt the saddle overbalancing, he pulled at the reins just as a loud snap rang out from under the mule. "No tobias stop!" Gwynn exclaimed as he toppled from the mule, leaving himself, his gear and his now useless saddle in the only muddy spot in the road. Covered in mud and cradling all of his earthly possessions Gwynn looked up to the sky and began to weep. "Oh father was right! I should never have left! I should never have left them! I shouldn't have…shouldn't," his whimpers trailed off as his weeping intensified, the only thought left in his mind, that he was wrong, and it was all his fault they died. The memories seemed like harsh craggy rocks that his recollections couldn't resist washing up against. The images of his father impaled on pikes, his mothers

It was like any other day in Winterswatch, a small town in Aeney, it once served as a stop over point for pilgrims to the Liber Arcanum, until the mysterious disappearance of that great library. Since then it had been a quiet farming community, not very much happened, and the influx of strangers had all but stopped, until this day. The stranger arrived suddenly, no one saw his approach on the roads and none heard his horse, he'd simply appeared. He was a tall man, with purest white hair and a foreign colouring to his skin, a dark grey, almost black colour, he wore a heavy cloak, his back was hunched, as if under his cape was a pack or heavy load. The man looked about the town, seemingly gaining his bearings, and then walked to the house of an old woman, her family long dead, herself older than any others in the village, the man walked into her house, as if he owned it. A few of the town's men went to help her, a wall of ice suddenly surrounded the house, holding them back, forcing them

The boy awoke in a start. It had happened again, he could tell without even looking. He felt it, somehow, in his very essence he felt that it had all happened again. He sat up in his bunk and looked around. The cabin was covered in a thin layer of ice, the two others that he was sharing the cabin with were contorted in odd positions, position that no body could achieve naturally. He looked down, under his own bed, to the young girl who he had shared the bunk bed with. The look of shock, terror, and above all else pain, that was now permanently etched into her delicate features scared the boy beyond reason. He screamed and jumped from his bed, the thumping of his heart filled his ears as he ran up the narrow staircase and into the light. What he saw on deck stopped him in his tracks. The coating of ice was here as well, the bodies covered the deck, all twisted and contorted, all died painful deaths. The shock and terror mounted in the boy, the entire crew of the ship was dead, and he kn

Keth stood over the impromptu grave, the fools had no idea how to dispose of a corpse, even one only half dead. He cast the spell and the earth moved away, revealing the dark elf. Another spell and the drow was lying alongside Keth, a potion being poured down it's throat. The elf awoke and immediately began scrambling, attempting to attack impotently with his hands. Keth cast another spell, and the drow fell still.
"You will listen to me. You are saved by your lord Keth, whom you will, from this point serve, understood?"
He could tell the drow would not be cow towed…so proud and stubborn, all elves were the same.
"You will serve me, not as slave, but as servant, you were attacked this day by servants of Nevvyn, he has thrown his lot with the Dardekians and wishes to ensure you are not free. I will not accept this. You are as free as any man," as Keth passed his hand over the drow's scar it healed, regenerating the deeply scarred flesh, "and I will not see the servants of any god say ot

Keth sat in a crowded inn, wearing the face of a Wunderlustian trader killed two days prior to his arrival in Wayfarer's. Few people paid him much mind, and aside from three fresh faced adventurers looking for missions that would bring them fame and glory he was undisturbed for the duration of his wait. At about quarter past 2 in the morning the three he awaited entered, the group drew stares from more than a few people, the drow dressed in animal skins drew more than a few gasps from a table of young women. The three approached Keth's table and sat, no invitation given, nor needed.
"It's is done my lord. The temple lies in ruins," the drow turned to the small child staring at the inn with knowing eyes, "Bergan, the artefact." The child looked up at him, slightly surprised, then smiled a sweet and innocent smile and handed him a small crown made entirely of diamonds.
"My, my, quite attractive isn't it? The others, did you see them?" Keth's attention was absorbed by the small crown, the
