How does this look?
I thought the comic needed a logo, so I went ahead and did it.

Perhaps the coloring should be toned down greatly to match other printed comics, but since right now its online only, we can go with the hi-octaned one ; D

The initial inks for this are way different, and retarded :P

RockStar, Aluísio Cervelle Santos

EDIT: Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately the most effective fix, would require me to almost redo the whole thing in order to achieve such result, so I opted for the lesser-while-still-tough edit, which was bringing the hole in the Star's R down a few notches. I also tweaked the highlights in it so that it was more apparent it was an R and not a K. Hopefully it's readable now.

Also have in mind that it being a comic about rock, metal the logo also branches in these kind of stuff when it comes to extreme designs
Thanks again for the feedback! I'm still hearing more, since it's being an amzing experience so far!

cara o star lembra uma banda glam antiga, esqeuci o nome dela!!
o unico porém que deixo é a parte de baixo das letras estar com uma cor amis clara., sei lá imaginaria aquele ponto mais escuro, com pouca luz

the letters are neat and the colors too.
but i do not recognize neither the character or any forms from him.Rock Star
is amazing letters you should look more of the real forms of the letters and think up a way to make it look like a logo perhaps use something you relate to the character within your design. -Helf

sweeet~~ *u* i don't know much about logos (at all) but it looks cool to me~
the only thing is that the R of STAR seems still a bit hard to read, maybe if the hole of R was bigger? dunno if it would look bad but maybe try it XD
i love how the ROCK part looks <3

Sorry for the late reply x D
Thanks, yeah, perhaps ill do a whole new version for it, but certainly this will be the main design, except clearer!

i like the 80's new wave vibe on it, but dunno bro maybe you should aim for a more simplier style, you know more bold to make it pop from the distance, like a concert poster. :D

Thanks!
Yeah, I was thinking of making a more bold version of this.. perhpas like a super thick version of it, it just 2 or 3 colors, like stuff to print and what not

yeah it kinda looks like Rock Stak...in thumbnail form it's even harder to make out....maybe a little too angular?

ahha yeah, it looks horrible in the thumb!
I did some edits, does it read more like Star now?

Well, it's good dude, but the STAR is almost unreadable dude. When making logos it's a good thing to be stylish with it, but it's also gotta be clear and readable. Take the logo for Super Tron, it's very stylish, but it's also very easy to read.

Um... personally I'd try to work in both the metal elements and rock elements into all of it, space out the letters as well (You gotta take negative space into mind when making logos), make the O and C lots bigger (My animation teacher taught me that it's never a sin to make round letters bigger than other letters and it helps to eliminate negative space). Sorry for poo-pooing on this logo, I say you should keep the rock part but again: Make the O and C much bigger. It's the bottom part that really doesn't look good.

Thanks for the crits!
While I thanks for them, I'm also perfectly satisfied with the Rock part, they are smaller than the R and K for a design purpose, so that its like some kind of horns and etc, and they still manage to look perfectly like a c and a o.

As for the Star, yeah, it was very hard reading it, I did some edits, bringing the R hole down, I wonder if it's better now!

Also, have in mind the stylization in it is based on other more unreadable metal bands own logos!

only thing is the hole from the r could move a little down so it it won´t be confused with a k. it looks beautiful!
