Valkyrie at SDS

Northwood Stables staff took a break from showing their own horses, and asked Fallbrooke Equestrian Center if they would like Northwood to show one of theirs in the SDS 3rd Annual Anniversary Competition: [link]

Jennifer slowly got the excited mare out of the trailer. She had been working with Valkyrie for the past few months, and now felt she was ready to enter the large show at Silmes Dragon Stables. She and her brother, Matt were by themselves on the cold day, and were currently trying to get Jenny into the warm up ring as quickly as they could.
Valkyrie, however was proving to be a good sport, and quickly calmed down, not really worrying about everything around her any more. She was quickly saddled and bridled and led to the large warm up ring outside of the arena.
They were soon trotting around the arena with the other horses, and Jenny managed to keep control of Valkyrie's interests long enough for her to keep frame, and move fluidly on the sandy surface. Smiling, Jenny pressed her heels into Valkyrie's sides, and the little mare pressed easily into a canter, in one fluid movement they looked like they were flying easily and with grace.
"Jenny!" Matt's voice finally reached her ears, and she quickly maneuvered Valkyrie over to where Matt was standing on the other side of the fence.
"Yes?"
"You are up next, lets get Valkyrie over to where you need to be." Matt motioned with his hand over to the indoor arena, so Jenny pressed her mount into a trot again towards the indoor arena, where she, for the first time, would show a horse that she did not own.

"Up next," A female voice came over the loudspeaker, it was crisp and clear, obviously some one who was used to announcing such events. "is Jennifer Truman of Northwood Stables, riding a horse from Fallbrooke Equestrian Center, Fade To Black". Jenny stood patiently beside the entrance at A for only a moment, watching the horse before her come out of the ring. As soon as the bay horse was clear of the entrance, Jenny pushed Valkyrie forward, and they made their way around the outside of the ring, waiting for the bell to signal it was their turn to enter the imposing ring.
