ABOUT

Rømø is the southernmost of Denmark's beautiful Wadden Sea islands. In summer the island fills with tourists (mainly from Germany) - hardly surprising given the entire west coast is one long, sandy beach - the widest in Europe, as it happens. Rømø is connected to the Jutland mainland by a 10 kilometer causeway (with bicycle lane).

The flawless sand ground makes Rømø Beach a perfect setting for equestrian events too, and for the past few years the event 'Rømø Beach Jump' has been hosted here: an all-show jumping event with different classes to suit various skill levels.
This event is similar in concept - albeit with another name: Rømø Beach Seaside Show Jumping. Pack your beach bags and see you there :la:

SETTING INFO

Weather:
Warm, about 19-20 degrees Celsius. Alters between sunny and cloudy and watch out for showers!

Surroundings: A large, flat beach with white sand. The arena is fenced off with orange cones connected by white strings and sponsor banners. Around the arena you will find the audience (standing or on fold-out chairs), vehicles, transporter vans etc.
There is also a KITE FLYING FESTIVAL going on, and while they have been instructed to keep their distance you just never know about those curious kite-flyers, right? :giggle:
Towards the sea-side there is... water, lol.
Towards the land side you will find soft, white dunes with coarse lyme grass growing on them.

This video is what I have in mind in terms of setting:

Jumps: You are free to design your own jumps :)
If you are totally out of ideas you can try to use the following sponsor logos (all made by me):

  Sejrbank by Zoubstance
Sejrbank: Investment bank, owned by Simon Kvark's family

  Gzymes by Zoubstance
Goldenzymes: (mainly) Pharmaceutical company, owned by the Goldenweisers

:iconzlesdin:
The Zlesdin Association: My breed group ^^

Disclaimer: Zdarloch Stables has NOTHING to do with this event ;)

GENERAL RULES

:bulletred: Follow these rules ;)
:bulletred: Art must be made for this show - no reusing old art.
:bulletred: Art must be made by you. No commissions, lineart or free-to-use backgrounds.
:bulletred: Art must be DRAWN. No photo backgrounds.
:bulletred: I don't care if you trace as long as you credit your sources correctly. That being said; tracing earns you less effort points.
:bulletred: Textures and custom brushes are allowed; just credit your sources

:bulletred: No pre-registration required.
:bulletred: You can enter as many horses as you like - the same horse can only enter one class, however (disregarding the pair jump - a horse participating in pair jump can enter another class too).
:bulletred: Respect the age limits for each class - a 5-year old is not a grand prix horse.
:bulletred: All breeds are allowed. Ponies are welcome too!
:bulletred: You are encouraged to fly your country flag (optional).

:bulletred: Required tack, horse: Must wear a bridle, saddle and protective gear for at least the front legs. Boot bells, martingales, huts etc are optional and permitted. You can use any bit. Hackamores are allowed. Saddle pad can be any colour you choose.
:bulletred: Required tack, rider: Must wear a helmet and tall riding boots. Must wear white/off-white breeches. Jacket can be any colour. Whips and spurs allowed. Gloves optional.

:bulletred: IN YOUR ENTRY DESCRIPTION INCLUDE A LINK TO THE HORSE'S REF, RIDER'S NAME, A LINK TO THE SHOW AND THE CLASS YOU ARE ENTERING.
:bulletred: Each class may have some specific extra rules - make sure you read and follow those :)

Extra images and interactions with other users are more than welcome but will not earn you additional points.

THE CLASSES

:bulletred: N o v i c e c l a s s :bulletred:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Jump height: 1 meter

Lower age limit for horses: 3 years
No upper age limit.

If you have a young horse, a future star in need of some experience (or an trusty veteran who's still got it despite old age!) or a rider new to the sport this is a perfect class for you.

:bulletred: M e d i u m c l a s s :bulletred:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Jump height: 1,3 meters

Lower age limit for horses: 5 years
No upper age limit.

For the more advanced. The course is more technically challenging and will suit a horse/rider combination who are really starting to get the hang of show jumping but are not quite at max-height yet.

:bulletred: G r a n d P r i x c l a s s :bulletred:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Jump height: 1,6 meters

Lower age limit for horses: 7 years
No upper age limit.
Must have competed in show jumping before. Link a previous show entry as proof.

Strictly for experienced, well-seasoned horses and riders. It doesn't matter if this is your first grand prix as long as you can showcase SOME kind of previous show jumping entry (any level).

:bulletred: P a i r J u m p c l a s s :bulletred:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This is a pair jumping class - this means you will enter two horses/riders who must complete the course in synch. You are judged on style, synch and how well your team matches up - so entering a pony next to a shire will dock some points ;)
You can enter two of your own horses/riders or team up with another user for a collab.

Jump height: None fixed - match it to your horses' level.

Lower age limit for horses: 3 years
No upper age limit.

If you have the image done and ready you can submit it, but in the name of fairness to the other competitors I'd have to give it a lil 'time penalty' :')
