Snape BW by zorm Snape BW by zorm
More tablet scribbles; comicbook style. Colors come later if it's worth 'em.

If people still wonder why I'm not drawing him as a sparkly goldilocks bishib0i, they can look at the old comparison chart. [link] :)

Yup, this looks about right. Snape is not a handsome person. Never was, never will be. Closest he'll ever get to anything else is the movie adaptations. Even then that's probably only because real people this hideous are very difficult to come by.

He looks so deliciously wicked, I love it. Horrah! for facial hair and bad teeth! I'm also fascinated by that bookshelf...and his boots...

Wow. People have still been commenting. I just had to pop in. I've been addicted to the canon version of Snape lately. My version of Snape is something between canon and Alan.
This is just an awesome piece of work. Sooo canon <3

I just... kind of really like this. It looks more like the little illustration (I think in the 3rd book: AKA how I imagined snape until Alan Rickman showed up ,and still kind of see him even now), but it also seems to fit the book a lot better than other fanart... also, awesome boots.

I've never been fond of the Rickman look. In fact, I read the books much before I saw any of the films, and had thus already developed my own mental picture of Snape. Rickman's a good actor, but he's too stout and old for the role.

Wow!
I think this is the first time I've seen Snape with facial hair look hot!
Though to be perfectly honest he looks hot all the time...especially if you are the one to draw him.
Amazing work on the detail! I know only one other person who would go into so much detail and she is my friend so I have to appreciate her work...you however I do not know so I can properly gush over how incredible your artwork truly is.
I hope I have sufficiently inflated your ego enough.
If I have not done so please let me know and I will immediately begin again only much better.

 Thanks. Personally I prefer Snape with facial hair. XD Of course, I'm one of those weird cases that actually likes beards, so there you are. Must be my barbarian genetics.

Öääh... the detail just... comes. I've had instances when I've been determined to do a 'simple' pic, but have again doodled it full of itty bitty figures that make everyone's eyes ache.

I really love this picture of Snape. I myself don't like the ZOMG BISHIBOI!?!?11one Snape. Still love him the same...and feel that this Snape is just as sexy....maybe I am a bit soft for bad guys. Always pictured him as like 98 pounds and 6 feet tall though (scrawny as shit). But oh well, I like the way you captured the greasiness of his hair (it's hard to do). Anyway, I will quit my rambling. Keep up the good work!!!

I picture him having a bit more mass than that, since according to the books he's not a total pushover physically. XD Kind of sinewy-thinnish, I'd imagine. I did draw him too thickset some time agone, though, when I had actual trouble drawing thinner people.

I love your Harry Potter drawings, Zorm, because they are so different.
I don't picture Snape to be very much like yours and I love seeing a different perspective on him.

I'm really liking his medieval style shoes and clothes. The small details in the cloak is very admirable.

A fav from me. :) :+fav:

Yeah, I tend to take a different outlook on the characters. I suppose that's because I'm not interested in using the actors as models, I love medieval stuff, and I've gotten large chunks of inspiration from the audio books read by Jim Dale. Character voices usually have a huge impact on me. Dale gives Snape this rasping, gloating, drawling darklordish voice, and I really cannot imagine it coming out of anything but a man akin to this. XD

I like this style, it's a very unique Snape version. Don't know where you get the beard from though o.o Well, it sure as hell doesn't say he doesn't have one so I guess it's possible. And by the way, Book of Om, Cthulhu... rofl, nice touch XD

This is the scariest, craziest, most incredible drawing I have ever seen of Severus. I am totally and absolutely amazed by the details that you have managed to incorporate into this one drawing of a truly very mysterious and possibly dangerous man. The expression on his face, his hands, his boots, his collection of books, papers, and miscellaneous things on the shelves... I am just utterly blown away. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this. It's definitely one of my favourite drawings of one of my favourite characters.

I guess I just hate white spaces and instinctively fill them with itty bitty scrawlings. XD Nah, I had quite a lot of fun with the details. I don't really follow the movie adaptations, but like to draw the characters and settings as I see them in my head. Rather more medieval and sinister, one might say.

Ee... not pencilwork. Draw completely with tablet and most parts sketched straight with the 'inking brush'. I used a dark gray tone for the lines instead of black, though, so that might do the effect?

Whahah! This is absolutely the best Snape-picture you've made. I mean, all the previous ones are wonderful, too, but this is somehow the most realistic one. I don't know, maybe this Snape is most closest to what image I personally have about him by reading the books. He's ugly, he's charmant, he's wicked and he's evilly hot. :D Heh heh... I don't know. Just... a perfect picture.

EMZ

P.S. The BOOKS! What on earth...?! "Necrotelecomnicon?" or "Book of Om?" And everything else indiscernible and unfathomable... And what's that skull? Someone killed the Sith Lord Golem-snort? ;)

At first I thought this was Karkaroff, because of the goatee, then I thought: 'This Snape looks a lot like Rasputin from the Disney movie 'Anastasia' He's got that same face.' I almost expect him to say: "Oh, I will get a life, Bartok...HERS!!!" I really like the background details. Too many artists don't put in a background, making it look like the characters are floating. Your Snape fits in comfortabley in his office. Alorkin

Whatever I do to Snape, he apparently always ends up looking more or less like Rasputin. XD I've heard the same comment tens of times.
I like drawing backgrounds, sometimes even more than the foreground characters. This time I had a lot of fun with the books. I do have backgroundless pics, but usually I want to give some sort of setting for the things happening in the scene.

Ah, don't mind my terminology. XD Isn't mean to be a serious thing. Some of the details look rather sketchy in the full-res pic when inked straight onto a blank layer with this particular technique, so I guess that's where the nickname comes from.
