Description
After Florida, Layla Connor has been silent, not only as a monster hunter but as a dress model too. She is still having thoughts about more vampires out in the world, and the horrifying memory of Rachael Hawkins being bitten by Dracula. But vampires aren't the only thing in the world to look out for; there could be a possibility of another Invisible Man.
Meanwhile, in the City of Westminster, Sir Geoffrey Radcliffe finds his brother Michael, dead in his mansion, and the police sentence him to death for a crime he did not commit. Dr. Frank Griffin, the brother of the original invisible man, injects the prisoner with an invisibility drug. As Radcliffe's execution nears, he suddenly vanishes from his cell. Detective Sampson from the Scotland Yard guesses the truth while Radcliffe searches for the real murderer before the drug causes him to go insane.
Back in Los Angeles, Layla is posing for another photoshoot at the dressmaking shop. The TV in the shop then cuts to breaking news about an escaped inmate from Scotland Yard, who vanished into thin air from his cell. It occurs to Layla that there is another Invisible Man. Detective Sampson makes a phone call to the shop and requests that Layla helps him search for Radcliffe, knowing her encounter with Jack Griffin, the original Invisible Man.
Layla, having to fly out to England to meet up with Sampson, she is given an overview of Geoffrey and his family background. The Radcliffe family owns a mining operation. The recently promoted employee Willie Spears is promoted within the company, stirring Radcliffe's suspicions. After forcing Spear's car off the road, Spears is frightened into revealing that Richard Cobb, Radcliffe's cousin, is the murderer. As it becomes clear to both, Radcliffe (now driven mad by the drug) is out for revenge against Cobb, his cousin, for murdering his brother.
Layla will know how to find people who are invisible because, after the mess in Florida, she was given a thermal scanner, goes over the left eye, and detects any sudden movement that isn't visible. After a confrontation, a chase ensues in the mines, during which a bullet from Sampson strikes Radcliffe. Cobb is fatally injured by falling into a coal wagon after a gunshot from Layla, but he confesses to the murder, for everyone to hear, then he dies.
Now cleared of all wrongdoing, Radcliffe, dying from blood loss and exposure, makes his way to Dr. Griffin. Some of Radcliffe's employees, Layla, Detective Sampson, and the wife of the deceased Jack Griffin, Flora Cranley (now with a son named Jonathan), volunteer to donate blood to Radcliffe. The transfusion succeeds, making Radcliffe visible again, curing him of his madness, and allows the doctor to operate and save his life.
Back in Los Angeles, Radcliffe visits Layla, wanting a favor from her in return, for his daughter Emily, as she is getting married, and needs a wedding dress. Back at Layla's house, she secretly snagged the "Christine Daaé Replica Wedding Dress" from the shop. Radcliffe wants her to model it for him before Emily decides if she wants the dress or not, including the gloves, necklace, veil, and tiara that came with it. Radcliffe invites Emily in and shows her the dress, and she says "Yes." And then, Layla serves as a bridesmaid for the wedding.
In a post-credits scene, after Layla's shift, she gets a call from Tyler Holt about the text message he got from Derrick Holloway and says it's time to get the team back together again. And will know where to find Christian Cutter, in London.
