I think I figured it out: How can Guitar Hero be adapted into a movie?
World stability has been kept in order by the power of rock music, with different genres bringing humanity together. The genres are protected by "Guitar Heroes," legendary rockers devoted to music who wield Star Power, giving life to music. However, Lou wants to control all music when he claims the souls of those who broke contract with him while disguised as a music producer. But a prophecy set out by the God of Rock states that a "girl with hair blazing of fire" will unite the Guitar Heroes to prevent Hell rising onto Earth and setting music free. Guitar Heroes are chosen when the letters GH appear on the back of their necks.
In present day Detroit, Guitar Heroes are scarce due to cultural changes in music, but only a few heroes remain. "Hell on Earth," a week-long rock music festival, emerges in town for band performances. Judy Nails has had an interest in playing guitars ever since she and her best friend, Pandora (Goth Rock), saw a live performance in Tennessee from Eddie Knox (Rock N' Roll) ("Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley; flashback scene). Judy attends the festival with a VIP backstage pass. Pandora is chosen to play guitar on stage ("Everybody's Fool" by Evanescence), and is marked a Guitar Hero following her performance. Without even performing, Judy is also marked.
As the show wraps up until the next day, cracks start appearing in the ground, demonic hands trying to grab hold of Judy and Pandora. Lou appears in front of the two girls, stating that once someone grabs hold of a guitar and performs on stage, they enter a contract with him, and performing only for one time is a violation of the contract, and now Pandora's soul will now belong to him. But the two are saved by a performance from Axel Steel (Metal) ("Ride the Lightning" by Metallica), driving Lou away and sealing the cracks in the ground.
Axel explains to both girls that they have been chosen to be Guitar Heroes after Pandora unlocked her Star Power. As a demonstration of a Guitar Hero's power, the girls get another demonstration after Axel summons another Guitar Hero by opening a portal with a Destiny Pick, a guitar pick that can call upon other Guitar Heroes, and communicate with others via holograms. The hero Axel summons is close-friend, Lars Ümlaüt (Black Metal) ("Sweet Dreams" by Marilyn Manson), who doesn't really talk. Both men have been on the run from Lou for quite some time as they too are marked, but seeked guidance from the God of Rock on how to track other Guitar Heroes. Axel and Lars use their picks to open portals sending the girls to seek out other Guitar Heroes, Judy is sent to London, and Pandora is sent to Tokyo.
Axel and Lars communicate with the other Guitar Heroes through Destiny Picks, guitar picks that can project holograms of other rockers through a series of specific guitar strums through Air Guitar. They send out the warning that the prophecy is coming to fruition, and to meet at the Temple of Rock. This warning comes after a Times Square performance from Izzy Sparks (Glam Rock) ("Fallen Angel" by Poison).
In London, Judy hears commotion going on inside CBGB, and finds a drunken bar fight going on inside. The one to end the fight is a punk rock performance is Johnny Napalm (Punk) ("The Violence" by Rise Against). After the show, Johnny takes notice of Judy as she is the one mentioned in the prophecy, and takes her through a tunnel network leading to the God of Rock's Temple.
In Tokyo, Pandora finds herself at the Tokyo Dome, and finds a pop rock performance, and on guitar is Midori (Pop Rock) ("Beat Of My Heart" by Hillary Duff). Backstage, with a VIP backstage pass, starts out as Pandora and Mirdori comparing outfit styles suddenly turns into breaking down the prophecy about Judy being the chosen one. Judy calls Pandora about the location of the God of Rock's Temple: The Mojave Desert in California. Then Axel and Lars call in, warning her that the prophecy is drawing near, and that the "Hell on Earth" venue has been dragged down to Hell.
Entering the Temple, other Guitar Heroes, including Eddie, Izzy, Clive Winston (Classic Rock), and another close friend of Judy and Pandora, Casey Lynch (Hard Rock), welcome the arrival of the "girl with hair blazing of fire," all eyes are on Judy. With only hours remaining until the Guitar Heroes are dragged down to Hell, the God of Rock demands the Guitar Heroes begin Judy's training. She starts her training with Clive ("Long Time [Live]" by Boston). Cracks suddenly appear in the ground and all the Guitar Heroes fall down to Hell. At the clutches of Lou, the Guitar Heroes are suddenly having their Star Power drained from them.
Judy's last hope lies in Casey ("Stupid Girl" by Garbage), unfortunately the lesson isn't enough. Lou's end of the bargain holds up and now takes control of all genres of music as his undoing of the prophecy nears completion. The last remains of Star Power from the Guitar Heroes are transferred to a hopeless Judy. Reflecting on her past experiences with every genre of Rock, Judy finds it in herself that she can alternate between genres to control the Star Power gained from the others, accepting Alternative Rock ("The Pretender" by Foo Fighters).
Now at her full potential, Judy restores power to all the Heroes and unite together to battle Lou, 10 v 1 ("The Devil Went Down To Georgia" by Steve Ouimette), with Judy becoming the one true Guitar Hero. Overpowering Lou, he falls into the deepest parts of Hell, while the rockers ascend to Earth.
Following Lou's defeat, the Guitar Heroes put on an encore performance to conclude the "Hell on Earth" music festival ("Through The Fire And Flames" by DragonForce).
Live performance of TTFAF plays during the end credits.
