I Want to Be A Good Man (Poem)
I Want to Be A Good Man
Sequel to I Am Not a Bad Man
By J.C. Solis
I know what other think about my gait
Perhaps judgment has always been my fate
I know what others think when they see me
Looking dangerous with no guarantees
But if only my heart they’d come to know
All the goodness inside I have to show
If only they saw a man, not a beast
If only they’d come to fear me the least
Deep down inside, a gentleman shows grace
And is shown through the smile that’s on my face
Deep down inside, I have all that I need
To show my human heart that aches and bleeds
For all I ever want is to be good
I know what I must, and mustn’t, and should
For all I want is to be a kind soul
Even as glares start to take their toll
Because I just Want to Be a Good Man
A man who has his own fate in his hands
Because I just want to live a Good Life
Away from how my gait causes strife
I Want to Be A Good Man with a heart
And I won’t allow to be torn apart
I want to be known as
