My version of Bob Ross painting 'Pastel Seascape'. Turned out quite darker than Bob's pastel.

As a lover of nature, especially vast expanses such as the ocean, this really impressed me the moment I saw it! The orange is very powerful, and the waves very dark. I like.

Is this based on any place you visited?

Joe, not any one place, but perhaps an amalgamation of many. I watched Bob Ross paint this and it really struck a chord.

This was my first ever painting - much harder than I anticipated working with oils.  Wow - what a learning experience!

A very nice first effort -- like the light shinning through the wave --  especially in oils, which can be a pain. But Bob Ross is probably a good introduction to oil painting -- how to do it, and how to have fun doing it -- but don't be afraid to take those lessons and apply them to your own ideas -- those misty drives...

Yes, learning the techniques comes first, but naturally I can't wait to create my own scenery, or even scapes from here in southern Wv.  Thanks very much for your comments!
