Here is my take on the heroes of Golden Axe, a favorite of mine. I resized the original sprites to 600% and brushed over them.
Each took me around 1h30 to finish.
Done in Photoshop CS3.

We fans are still waiting for a decent HD version of it, so I decided to give it a go on my own.
But this is pretty old stuff - perhaps I should make an updated version with animation just for shits and giggles?

I really love the game, i wish too that this games have hd remake, best quality we can get is emulator for arcade but a sega mega drive - Golden Axe 1, 2 and 3 - hd remake for steam would be perfect we can use your anmation or pictures and start a kickstarter or petition or something

This is awesome, especially Gilius Thunderhead. Love the street fighter HD remix remake (atleast the still artwork, the animations looks a bit stiff), have done a few sprite remakes myself because of that game.

I agree. They tried turning Golden Axe into 3D games twice, and failed twice.
Good 2D games like Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Castlevania, Megaman only need some pimping up in the graphics to be updated. As long as they stay 2D the fun is guaranteed, whereas their 3D versions always risk failure.
