A Tale of Bipplane A- First Mission
A Tale of Bipplane A
Prologue
The brief transfer of command ceremony completed hours earlier, the new captain sat down in the Big Chair for the first time at her new rank. She slowly glanced around her at the people working, some still installing last minute systems updates. She knew she had earned the promotion over the years and more recently by serving on a Wolfian vessel. The remaining familiar crew understood this and welcomed her back. But many personnel transferred to other ships or assignments, including the former captain.
"Captain's log, from the Mars Planitia Utopia shipyards. Maintenance, repairs and transference of personnel are almost all complete and we should be underway within a day. I've assumed command of the vessel and firstly requested to keep the ship's name, albeit the second in its’ line. It was originally named after the Foxian captain whom I'm also honored to call my friend. The admiralty readily accepted this request. The crew as well! Meanwhile a

A Tale of Bipplane- Shuttlecraft Down
A Tale of Bipplane - Shuttlecraft Down
The shuttlecraft Aldrin bounced and shook as it skirted the edge of the magnetic storm. "Sorry!" shouted the pilot to his passenger.
"No need to apologize, Lieutenant," replied the pilot's captain, Lainey. "Just keep the boat together 'till we get back to the Bipplane."
"At least we're all strapped in and have a handy nurse available in case of injury!" observed the other passenger, nurse Chang Lin.
Lainey smiled and the pilot, Lieutenant Daniel Ramirez, forced a grin, but kept his concentration on the ship. "How long 'til we make it to the ship?" asked captain Lainey.
"Another hour, at least", answered Ramirez. "Scanners indicate the storm is wide and slow moving but the Bipplane should've mostly avoided it well enough."
Just then a major crackling and the craft shook violently as the lights dimmed and went out. A couple seconds later, the engines quit and the craft powered down as it spiraled into the atmosphere of a large moon orbiting a

The excavation proceeded well and even ahead of expectations. She figured maybe they'd reach the vault in a couple of days. The lady archaeologist and her team of graduate students had an advantage over centuries before, using modern twenty-third century tools and equipment. Sometimes, for the sake of relic preservation, the old fashioned hand tools were still best.
"Miss Jones!' cried out one of her students. It was an Andorian female named L'Shara and her antennae were wiggling. "We hit something metallic!".
Tammi walked over and saw for herself. That section of the dig had been the least likely area for a find, so she was a little surprised. It definitely looked like a ...box. A small, palm sized, gold embossed box. She and the others who leaned in could see the the gold was still intact. She applied the tricorder and discovered it was real gold.
"Hmmm...", she muttered. "Seems this ancient

Space Dreams
A few decades ago, on a planet circling a star many light years away from Earth, a great adventure was just beginning.
"Topan Control, all systems green. We have achieved orbit around the moon, will stabilize it and continue preparations for landing. Will maintain contact for any further instructions."
"Roger that, you have a Go to continue mission."
The three astronauts felt crowded in the machinery laden spacecraft, but they knew this was what they had all trained for, hoped for, dreamed of their whole lives. This was it. One would maintain the orbital craft around the moon while the other two would descend to the moon and land. They would Land!
The two previously assigned for the landing craft moved into that ship and after checking systems again, soon disconnected from the orbiter and descended to their moon.
They knew their world's media, video feeds, audio feeds and much else were riveted on them and this moment. In some places it was daylight
