Tiny Maille by zikes Tiny Maille by zikes
I have a bunch of 34 gauge wire I found at Hobby Lobby, but I can't make much with it until I find the proper tools. I've put it here with the larger 30 gauge I use in some of my other pieces, and a penny for overall scale.

Thanks! I love pushing my limits on how intricate I can get, and I can't wait until I get the proper tools to work with this stuff and actually make something :)

I've even found the same size of wire in different colors, so I'd love to try an inlay with it :D

I just found colored wire too! I bought the black for the book I'm doing.

lol I have a tendency to make large projects out of small materials ;)

I'll definitely want to make a necklace of some sort, but I'll have to make a few small practice patches to get used to it first.

What would be cool would be a necklace that covered most of the neck. Layers upon layers. Fine like this one so it wouldn't hurt but slightly maille-like...

lol something like that would be a bit too large scale, I was thinking more along the lines of a choker or something. I have multiple colors so I could easily make a patterned or written inlay in something like that :D

That'd be cool! Any specific patterns in your mind?

Hmm I'm leaning more towards a written inlay, possibly someone's name so I can give it away as a gift...but I'll need to secure the proper equipment before I can really do anything with it :dohtwo:

Wow, it really is! :D I'm not aware of my own genius! XD
You know, but it would have to be really delicate and light - like made from mithril ot sth. ^^
