Mobius Balls by zikes Mobius Balls by zikes
Well ~Adaven started the war with his Mobius Ball so I figure the only suitable retaliation is more mobius balls!

Yeah I likes my shiny little aluminum mobius balls :D
When I'm bored I'll sometimes just start making them so I have dozens of them scattered about the house :o

lol ~Adaven and another friend of mine made up a game called "Moby Balls" that involved about 50 of these in the school cafeteria.
It was a fun game, but I lost a lot of mobuis balls that way :D

Lost?! I'm pretty sure we didn't loose "that" many.

The point of the game we created was to act like we were playing a game (hopefully tricking others in the process).
Usually, we'd just start randomly throwing moby balls on a table and call out random jargon of the tops of our heads. Eventually someone would start acting like they won and the rest of us would act like sore losers.

People would watch us and ask what we were doing and how the game worked. We'd tell them, "Just watch" or something similar and wait for them to realize it was all just a bunch of bs. It usually didn't take too long....

Ok maybe we didn't lose "that" many, but balls were lost
It was worth it to see the looks on peoples' faces though :D

Oh, I've been doing this my whole life, I just started sleeping semi-normally when I started homeschooling, but now my insomnia is back. Gotta love stress. It eats away at everything.

I have a mobius strip. Are they basically the same thing?

It's the same concept. The deal with the strip is that if you follow one side of the paper you will actually cover both sides and end up right back where you started. With a mobius ball when you try to pick it apart to, say, count the rings they all start shifting around so it's difficult to keep track of them.

You should make them into pendants and sell them. My mobius strip is a silver pendant. People find all sorts of symbolism for them. I bet they'd sell like twinkies (they're better than hot cakes).

That's a good idea! I tinkered with pendants and stuff for necklaces a while back (see [link]) but didn't want to wrap stones like that too often. Using mobius balls would work excellently instead :)

omg have you ever seen the "404 Page" for dA?
I hit reply to your comment just now and got it and it's a picture of a guy with a dog and it's titled "Superdog ate the page you were looking for *picture of guy with dog here* Better get to the home page quick, lest she eats you as well!"
I took a screenshot I'll put in scraps, that's just too funny looking.

Oh, and yes I'll definitely post plenty of pics of a mobius pendant necklace :)

Each ball is composed of approximately 8-10 rings, each of which intersect every other ring in the ball. You can actually use as many rings as you want, depending on the diameter of the ring and thickness of the wire. The more rings you use the better the effect :)
Check out ~Adaven's Mobius Ball to see one that uses more rings.
