i'm still in love with anything wedding related.
and to satisfy this obsession, I had an idea to draw each of the 10 disney princesses in a wedding dress thats historically accurate (or culturally) fuzed with the official gown that Disney created for them.
this was inspired by

***Update 12/24/2016***
I've received some messages saying Jasmine's dress isn't accurate. I want to say to everyone thank you for the feedback. I agree I should've done more research. At the time I made this, I was still trying to figure out on how to conduct research on cultural wedding dresses in general, especially cultures I'm not immediately exposed to. It's much harder to pinpoint with a fictional Middle-Eastern inspired looking location. I did mention why I went with the Indian/Pakistani look below. But, as I've mentioned in other replies, I will definitely do more when I have the time to create a new version.

More than halfway through, Jasmine is here!

Most of the historical aspects I got from Shoomlah. For Jasmine, I went with a different approach than the others. Because the others were more Western/European designs (cuz duh, they are European tales), it was somewhat easier to pinpoint their styles due to the wide variety of historical sources to choose from (and in some cases, better documented). I drew most of the design and research from cultural aspects instead due to Agrabah being a fictional Middle Eastern kingdom and there really is no time period one can pinpoint easily (a lot of aspects within the movie itself is modern).
So what did I end up doing? Since I went cultural, I tried to figure out Agrabah's cultural inspiration. Started off looking at Arabian clothing and weddings but that didn't give me any solid stuff. Looking at Jasmine's outfits only showed that those poofy hammer pants most definitely came from the Middle East and a bit of India as well. Let's not forget that the sultan's palace was inspired by the Taj Mahal in India so I went more in that direction. I looked up stuff from Turkey, Israel, Persia, India, Pakistan, and a bunch others.
I eventually settled with Indian, Pakistani, and Moroccan bridal wear cuz:
1) they looked most closely to Jasmine's official gown (which isn't even accurate and looks super modern and white),
2) they're so colorful and decorative!
For the design, I used mostly a modern Pakistani design infused with Indian textures and patterns, keeping the traditional red for weddings from Indian culture. I mixed in some of Jasmine's signature mint blue color as the accent and background. Drawing the details of the beading was a pain but i learned how to make it look like jewelery at least ^___^
Jasmine's drawing is perhaps my favorite so far.
Hope you all enjoy this series.
