the full title is ouroburous : turbulence in absentia v3

it is one of the sporadic one-offs centered around the same theme as my sadistically long-running series Ouroburous (which lasted 100 submissions and took over a year to complete).

i am also using a variation of this for a splash page design (or promo postcard idea, i haven't settled on what yet)

pencil, goache, acrylic ink, acrylic paint + digital

This series is the coolest thing since... The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living (the coolest thing I can think of right now).
I love them all.

I think when (if) I ever get an art book collection of my work done, that quote will be in there somewhere.

I love this. You're awesome.

What is goache? (I'm asking because your style is similar to something that I do outside of dev. art in art class) :)

Gouache is related to watercolors but it is a much more stringent pigment in that you can actually do opaque work with it.

zeruch! I've been lurking watching your incredible work for quite some time and wanted to say that this piece really strikes a chord with me. I'd love to have this poster-size on my wall. Keep up the great work, it's a treat watching what you do.

it varies from work to work...it is an integral part of the process in that I cannot get the final result without it, but I can't create the base components with it -- hence the need for a hybrid approach.

*jaw drop* I am a sucker for the color red for some reason and along with this piece being one of your best (of the new stuff I missed while I was away) I cant do much more then to simply love this. If I could I would hang this on my wall. +fav (twice if I could ;) )

I love the texture, the strokes, the colors . . . this is just so neat. There are so many details, that each time I look, I see something new.

Yargh, this is nice! I love the color and the composition. It reminds me of Russel Mills or McKean's more abstract work. Nice.
