This is cool. But I'm itching to find a robot mode SG Unicron, and I can't seem to find him anywhere online...

I don't think he was ever shown in robot mode in any the of the TFCC comics.

From what I do know his robot mode would have looked just like the animated movie version, just with the new color scheme we did.

Yes but...I want to see exactly what that color scheme would look like on his robot form. Seeing his planet form in SG is not enough for me :p

I had a scheme in mind for the robot mode but it never made it to a comic. Sadly I only got to do the planet version.

Unicron's still the ultimate evil. Primus is still shown as the ultimate good of this universe.

At the very least that's my assumption cuz Multiverse singularities USUALLY carry the same traits (SG!Optimus and Alpha Trion notwithstanding).

Sweet pic. Now I want this issue more than ever. Though I do know that due to Unicron's Multiversal Singularity nature (only one Unicron in the entire Multiverse), he is still evil even in this universe. Or has Hasbro decided to change that, even though they are the ones that invented the concept of Multiversal Singularities? :)

Though as that issue is about to come out, I also guess I could wait and see. :)

Hasbro changes whatever they want when they want. Though it this case I'm uncertain where this Unicron fits in....for now.

They released a comic from the TF Collectors' Club called "Another Light."  Near the climax, Nexus Prime, one of the 13 Original Primes, uses the Star Saber and the Terminus Blade to strengthen the barrier between universes, much to the disagreement of his fellow 13 members.  As a result of this, Primus, Unicron, and the 13 are no longer interdimensional beings, and separate versions of them can exist in every universe.  This allows for future stories to tell the story of Primus, Unicron, and the 13 in any way, and for membership of the 13 to freely differ from universe to universe.

As a result of this, Primus and Unicron have changed personalities in the SG universe.  SG Primus now regards his inhabitants as an infestation (not unlike TFP Unicron), and SG Unicron is now noble and tries to help the good guys out.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure that I'm on board with this change.  On the one hand, it does admittedly allow more room for creativity, and I'm all for putting new and interesting spins on things.  However, on the other hand, it kind of gets rid of consistency, and I rather liked the idea of Primus, Unicron, and the 13 being these constant islands in a multidimensional sea of variation.

Yep, I've been coloring that series as well. I agree there are aspects that I like about the change and some that initially I was unsure about.

All in all I think I prefer the change just so not every single TF Universe has to be tied to the same basic construct. Primus wasn't a factor in the original animated series and I like that, in fact I prefer that origin of the Transformers far more then the comic's Primus origin. The idea of the 13 was cool but they were already changing things around with them before this story, and now they can but it won't effect every single TFU. In the long run I think it's a better way to go.

To me the Primus Unicron singularity thing was what set the franchise of Transformers apart from things like Marvel and DC. Not having them be the same across the multiverse just takes away from it so much.

I've never been a fan of the Primus origin though I do think there's a place for him in the universe. Still with Transformers if there's something you don't like, just wait a bit, they just keep changing things up. There's good and bad with that but the overall fiction isn't really hurt by the real world shifts in story.

Can't really say that about the whole Unicron Singularity crap they pulled with the black hole.

What in TF:Cybertron? That mattered for that series and not before or after. Hasbro just does stuff, sometimes it's cool sometimes it's not, but transforming robots are always cool!

Well, I guess it depends on what you like. The Primus origin wasn't just in the comics, though. It was in the Cybertron series as well as the Transformers Prime series.

Right, it's become more used along with the new rule of 13 continuity Hasbro has been doing (The Aligned Continuity):

tfwiki.net/wiki/Aligned_contin…

Originally the comic and the cartoon had two different origin versions, and I like that. By doing away with the Universal Constant characters they've allowed for new stories to be more unique so that not every universe has the same foundation (like G1) and I think that's better all around for the TF-verse.

Though I have no objection to certain characters being a constant, like perhaps Vector Prime or Signal Lancer. I just don't think every TF series needs the same Primus origin, etc.

Perhaps.  I just like the Primus origin best, but that's a personal preference, and not everyone has the same opinion on things.

Very nice. Is his colors just inverted from regular Unicron? Or is he based on something specific? Because his colors remind me of that cancelled G1 Unicron toy.

Ha, yeah they do look like that. I was told what colors we were going to use but not on what parts. I actually did a couple versions of his colors and this was the one my editor liked best.

For quite a while I have pictured Kevin Michael Richardson as the voice of Unicron. His deep voice is very similar to Orson Welles, so he'd be perfect to voice the Chaos-Bringer!

See that's another good choice. I'm just giggling at the idea of Maurice Lamarche doing his Orson Welles impersonation for the planet bot.

That's ironic, 'cause I saw the Orson Welles scenes from "The Critic", and I picture Unicron in place of Mr. Welles.

That would be sweet, so smooth! Since it's SGU I was trying to think of someone more opposite of Orson Welles' baritone. Then again Gilbert Gottfried or Bobcat Goldthwait Unicron may be too painful to endure.
