Gnnn..Bored...

[after lots of months (unpaid) of intensive work on a project that is not mine; finally finished. I am very saddened to see some people evolve miserably when we try to offer them the best of ourselves. next personal objective: to enjoy life.]

being a dirty painting of myself I prefer to remain mute.

[Old work, edited for this occasion]

Reminiscent of Goya's "Black Period"...

I'm a huge fan of that period of his work. It was the inspiration that led me through the seminal years of my education.

Very different from the cartoons and portraits of his earlier years, or even his later work. It captured a nihilism of the period's Zeitgeist, a self-destructive trend as society was caught up in the wars raging across Europe at the time. I particularly like "Saturn devouring his Son", for the despair etched deep on Saturn's face.

for sure! it is a movement that I like enormously in which I found much of what I'd like to "make" in some way. yes it's still one of my favorite painting :) violate the very strong side, including the technique itself. :)
