Description

I remember sunsets as a singular; "That was an amazing sunset". But when photographing a sunset, it becomes clear that a sunset is a stream of visual stimulation that my mind collates into a single experience. In fact, I'll notice the color on the water in this area, and 10 minutes later, how the color has changed in that area. I'll notice how the sky transitions color, how the different shapes on the clouds catch the light. These sunset photographs are not intended to represent what my eye saw at any one moment, but are static documentations of a dynamic process occurring over an extended time. I look to create images that remind me how I felt rather than what I saw.
