Also want to note, these are my opinions on what happened so please don't be harsh
After watching Season 9 Episode 15 of the walking dead, i must say, I have mixed feelings about what happened.
For starters, it was both scary and great. Loved how it put fear into me, hoping that certain characters were going to live but i am also disappointed with some of the deaths.
First things first let's start off by saying, i'm glad that Ezekiel escaped his comic fate. He has been a favorite of mine ever since he arrived in both the comic and show. I know some people don't very much like him, but he is a great and caring leader. But not only that, it was a good choice to not add his death in this horrific scene. Why? Because it would've been expected. People who have read the comics would know that he dies in that scene and so seeing it happen in the show wouldn't really be much, sure fans would be upset, but the shock value wouldn't have been as large as it was with Henry.
Now onto Henry, I'm deeply upset with what happened to his character. I know people didn't like him and that he was taking Carl's story-line, but it's the build up that has gotten me upset. At episode 6, we already see that he would have a big part to play this season. Being the one who would help Lydia and such. It was so awesome to see his character grow from a young age to a teenager who understood the risks, but wanted to help people anyway. The fact that he wanted to help his parents and the Kingdom get back on their feet was very nice and then the whole Carl story-line we all know was put on him, and we as fans didn't really appreciate that Carl was missing out on one of his most memorable moments in the comics. But i think despite how annoyed fans were with Henry and his clumsy decisions, we did grow attached to him. I'll miss Henry, i'm disappointed that he was killed off so quickly.
Tara, this was a big surprise as well. I didn't expect them to do that at all. (Kinda the reason why the shock value was great). To be honest, even though it's disappointing to see her character end that way, and not in a more badass kind of way. I think this was pretty good. Sure i would've liked her to stick around, but just like Ezekiel and Henry, i think they replaced Rosita with her. Tricking fans into thinking they were gonna stick to the comic deaths. So to all you Rosita fans out there, don't worry she has survived her comic fate.
Enid, I'll be honest, i'm both shocked and comfortable with the decision. First things first, i thought Enid was pretty interesting character. I saw her replacing Sophia's role from the comics, but the problem is, there was nothing much for both characters to do. Enid became a doctor for Hilltop, became Carl's girlfriend for a time, I assumed she was taken in by Maggie before she left, and was just there. Sophia is very much the same, she's just there. But that's what i like about them, because there was a chance for something great for them. Sophia is very much alive in the comics and Kirkman says that he has a plan for her, and now Enid is, well you know. I feel like they could've done more for her, but i guess that's that.
The rest of the characters that were among the 10, were somewhat shocking.
The Highwaymen (Ozzy and his buddy) were a bit shocking, mainly because they were introduced and then immediately killed off. Like what was the point then? I loved how they came to the rescue at the last minute, but then that was it. Gone.
Tammy Rose Sutton, Earl's wife, made me sad, i loved her character very much. She was a strong old women who lost her son years ago, but even then, she proves to be a capable survivor. I guess it was too much in the end. I wish she could've stuck around more.
Rodney was, I'll be honest, i didn't mind that they killed him off. I say that cause there wasn't really any build up for him. So it's kinda hard for me to say "OH MY GOD!!!". Yes it was shocking cause he was one of the decapitated 10, but yeah. Just nothing.
Adeline i had some hopes for. At first i thought there may have been some build up for her considering she took a liking to Henry. I don't really know what to say about her death, i was shocked mainly because i thought she could've done more and they just did what they did.
Frankie was just meh. I mean we hardly saw her in action. I can't really say anything more than that. And even if she did, I just
DJ had me a bit sad since he changed from being a selfish savior to an actual savior. Even if he didn't succeed, he sure as hell didn't give up on them.
So overall, i think the only death i would change out of the 10 would be Henry. Because i believe they could've done more with him and if i had to replace a character with him, well i don't know. All these characters are so good, and i as a viewer am attached to them so it's pretty hard to decide who would die. Especially with Henry since the last head was supposed to being shocking as it was with Ezekiel in the comics.
Again, these are my opinions, please don't be harsh on them.
Thank you and have a good day/night
