Again one of those stupid old trains, again in Vienenburg. Gets boring, doesn't it?
The railway line in Vienenburg crosses Vienenburg's main street at level, causing endless traffic jams. However, it also makes for a good photography point when a steam engine comes along, such as here. In the background, you can see the horribly ugly but useful overpass from which I took [link] .
On this beautiful day in April 2005, 03 1010 is just heading out with a rather long train. At the end of the train is a diesel engine (also historic, not sure if it helps pulling), but don't tell anyone. The 03.10, as the class is known, is an advanced version of the standard 03, which is itself a lighter version of the 01 class. Like the 01.10 (from which it is a derivation), this Pacific used to have a streamline housing. However, it lost this after the war, as track speeds decreased drastically.
