Presently I am working on redesigning the canal city of Four Rivers. The following is a quick render of three city blocks, rendered in Blender with the Cycles engine, using Branched Path Tracing and the Adaptive Sampling patch.
Each building is actually a particle, and the particle system is designed to spawn a random building from an object group. As well, the material nodes for each building are designed to use the Object Info node to randomize their coloration. Blender can do some pretty cool stuff!
