CAUTION: SPOILERS AHEAD!
“I don’t care what you say, I’m gonna kill that son of a bitch myself!” Horace was in an unusually foul mood. He had just been told that they were about to fight Gilgamarsh, who was responsible for his mother’s death, and that he shouldn’t help take him down. “B-but he’d destroy you! You’re a Grass Type!” Horace shoved Gary aside. “I don’t care. I’m joining the Attack Team! You’re not going to stop me.” He headed for the door to Chandra’s tent to tell her his decision, but stopped when Gary spoke up. “And what will I t-tell Marcie when you die?”
Horace whirled on his friend. “Do you really think so poorly of me?! What is our friendship even worth to you?!” Gary just looked down at his feet, but just as Horace turned away again, he whispered, “Everything. That’s why I can’ let you do this.”
“He’s right, you know.” The two turned to see Ray, leaning on a tree. “Butt out! You don’t understand what it’s like to watch your mother die!” Ray nodded. “Maybe not, but right now I’m watching my friend throw his life away. Honestly, what do you think you can do? You’re better off helping Gary on the Medical Team.”
Horace shook his head. “You just don’t get it! I have to do this! I have to fight! If I don’t, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life!” Ray looked at him sternly. “And if you do, you won’t have a rest of your life. Just calm down.” Gary jumped back into the argument. “C-can’t you at least do something else? Join the Decoy Team! You c-can still help, and with your speed you should do f-fine.”
The sound of someone clearing their throat halted the argument. The three turned to see Chandra, floating outside her tent. “I hope I’m not interrupting. But I need to speak to you all about what we’ll do with Gilgamarsh. If you have a minute, please come in.” They all nodded, Gary excusing himself to go grab Marcie. “She’s a part of the team too.”
Once inside the tent, they all sat down to cast their votes. “Just place the shell in the box if you believe we should spare him, and the stone if you believe he’s too dangerous.” Immediately Horace got up and cast his vote. Gary eyed him sadly. He voted to kill. He’s still upset. Gary took two shells, one for him and one for Marcie, and placed them in the box. Ray did the same. “3 to 1, in favor of life.” Horace shot a glare at Gary. “I hope you’re happy with yourself.”
“Now, onto the other business I called you in for.” Chandra continued. “You are one of the few groups left to select your teams for the battle. Time is almost up. If you do not make a decision here today, I’m afraid I cannot let you participate in the battle to come, even if we are understaffed.” She looked at Gary and Marcie. “I also cannot allow you to bring the baby into battle, even if she is on your team.” Gary waved his hands defensively. “D-don’t worry. I’m on the Medical Team. I w-won’t be fighting. So she’ll be out of harm’s way.” Chandra nodded, before turning to Ray. “And you?”
Ray gave her a solemn look. “I will be fighting. I choose the Attack Team.” Chandra simply nodded again, before turning to Horace. He gave one last glowering look at Gary before finally speaking up. “I choose the Decoy Team."

Well, this is certainly going to be interesting. I find it interesting that the one who doesn't want to kill Gilgamarsh joined the Attack Team while the one who does want to kill him joined the Decoy Team. Ignis is in Horace's same predicament: A swordsmon who wants to kill Gilgamarsh, but his teammates are trying to convince him not to. Can't wait to see what happens.
P.S: Just a little nitpick, but you might want to put the spoiler warning at the top since a lot of people (like me) read the story first and the description last. I'm fine with spoilers, but I just thought I should let you know so that someone else who doesn't like spoilers isn't unintentionally spoiled.
