Description
(Scene begins, Madras calls Team Harvester over to her)
Madras: Hey! You two! You were in last night's play, correct?
Horace: Why yes, ma'am, we were. Why do you ask?
Gary: Y-you're not trying to r-recruit us, are you? We aren't actors…
Madraslaughs) Oh, no. I'm the Keeper’s Archivist. Many new teams are flooding into Tabira lately to join the Guilds, so I've been tasked with surveying the newcomers. That's why I called you over. You two are new faces to me. Mind if I ask you some questions?
Horace: Not at all, Miss Madras.
Madras: Please, just Madras. No need to be all formal. Now first off, I'd like to ask where you're from.
Horace: Well, I lived in Mosswood for most of my life. I decided I wanted to see the world, so I came here first. I thought maybe I could join a Guild, do some good while I'm traveling.
Gary: A-and I'm from F-Fernfrond Village. But n-nobody wanted me around, s-so I followed the river north. I got attacked by bandits when I got to Mosswood, and Horace h-helped me. We decided to come here together, and work at the Guilds together.
Madras: My goodness, you certainly came a long way. We don't have too much on Fernfrond Village. Would you mind telling us a little bit more about it?
Gary: W-well, um, it's a quiet town. Not much goes on there, but the other kids in town loved to play tricks on me. They would hide my stuff, usually under their beds or a pile of leaves. Eventually I got fed up with it, so I left town.
Madras: That's quite the interesting hat you have there. May I ask what it is?
Garyblushes) Oh, th-this old thing? My b-brother gave it to me when I left. H-he's a scientist. It stores st-static electricity from my fur so I can use Th-Thunderbolt.
Madras: Fascinating! I'd like to meet your brother someday. (Gary blushes again) And, Horace, right? (Horace nods) You also have a lovely hat. Where did you get it?
Horacetips hat) Well, thank you. My mother made this for me. Same with the bowtie. (Stretches bowtie) She was great…(Trails off)
Madrasconcerned) What happened to her?
Horaceshrugs) She got sick. Doctor Fellin said that he had never seen anything like it. After that, I left town.
Madras: I'm sorry to hear that. Losing family is hard. Anyway, thank you for sharing your stories, and for participating in last night's charity event.
Horace and Gary: No problem. Have a good day.
Madras: You too. I hope to see you again.
(Madras leaves)
Horacelooks at Gary) She seems nice.
(Sudden groaning sound from nearby bush)
Gary: Wh-what was that?
(Ray comes crawling out of the bush, badly bruised and with several minor burns)
Horace: Ray! Are you alright? What happened? How long were you there?
Ray: I... I got attacked… by a bandit. A… Braxien… He said his name… was Xavier… He… took my delivery…
Horace: What was it you were delivering, Ray?
Ray: M-medicine… for Mosswood… some people got very sick…
Horaceface hardens) Alright. We're going to get you to the doctor, then take back that medicine for you.
Gary: Bu-but, it's a Braxien. You c-can't fight him. And I'm too w-weak.
Horace: We have to. I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. Now, who’s the doctor here?
Ray: Cris, a Gl-Glaceon. She should be at the Sc-Scholar’s Guild.
Horace: Ok, let's get you to her.
(Scene ends)
And this is part 2 of my series. Did this one in stage directions, not entirely sure why. Does this method work better? Who knows. Anyway, we took a survey, and did a charity event (last page's play), so I am picking up the Symbol of Charity and 1 Keeper's Rep. I'll probably equip the Symbol of Charity to Gary at some point here.
So once again, Ray getting into trouble. Prepare for that to happen a lot. This time it leads into the Tracker's quests, so those will be up next. Then the Scholar's, then Intermission 1, then Chapter 1 is over!
