Can Red Team pull ahead again, or will Blue Team seal the deal with another goal?” Hydro cried into his microphone, setting the stadium abuzz with cheering. The spectators shouted support to both teams, urging them on to one final goal

    The ball was brought once again to the center of the field, placed at Ray’s feet. “Since Blue Team scored, Red Team will now get the ball. Let’s see who scores the final goal of the game.

    Looking around at his teammates, Ray could see the determination on their faces. Not determination to win, per say, as the games were all for fun. But determination to do their best in the final play of the game.

    After taking a moment to analyze the field, Ray kicked the ball over to Akino, who intercepted it and began to sprint forward, keeping the ball rolling. “And they’re off!” Ace yelled.

    Akino ran up the field, making decent headway before Penelope moved to intercept him. Pressed against the outer edges of the field, he swatted the ball over to Ray again, who bounced it off his chest and continued down the field. Seeing Cecil and Clyde charging towards him, ready to take the ball, he quickly took a shot at the goal.

    The crowd hushed as the ball flew through the air, then cheered when Acacia’s fluffy wings spread wide, blocking the ball’s trajectory. He kicked the ball back out, passing to Horace, who ran with the ball. Thanks to his speed, he was able to evade most of the opponents on the field. When Akino ran up alongside him, he kicked the ball over the Electrike, where it was caught by Reef.

    Reef rushed the ball along, getting a clear shot at the opposing team’s goal. Alex crouched down, ready to intercept. Reef’s foot swung towards the ball, but changed direction at the last second, passing back to Horace.

    Alex blinked in confusion, and in the time it took for him to realize what had happened, Horace had kicked the ball into the goal. The stadium erupted with cheers.

    “The crowd goes wild! Horace scores the final goal! Ladies and gentlemen, Blue Team wins!” Hydro shouted, though even with the speakers in the stadium he could barely be heard over the roaring crowd. The two teams met in the center of the field, shaking hands, paws and wings, in a show of sportsmanship, as the spectators cheered them on.
