People who want to see Gaster get brutalized have been a bit under-served SO
One potential cause of all that screaming, anyway.

This isn’t a literal representation of what’s going on or anything, since these two are in a non-physical plane of existence at the moment. It’s just sort of a way to visualize it in understandable terms? So I wouldn’t take Gaster’s appearance or the monster thumping him around too literally.

Gaster (c) Undertale: not much fun being at the mercy of someone much stronger and cruler than you is it gaster

"Seems like the Void is getting a bit too confident with itself... ..."
His smile cracks the scars covering his face. Oozing black rivers across the dark fur as his eyes slowly revolve into a single round shape.
The fingers tapped upon his arm rest as he slinks into the throne with a terrifying expression of evil intent.
"Play, my little toy... ... But break him too much...and you will...regret it... ... I won't let you...interfere with my promise..."

So Gaster builds 2 living tools and preforms horrific scientific experiments on them and people want to see him get brutalized for that. Fair
But Asgore flat out murders 6 human kids and gets a free pass. You all remember that part right? Asgore is a serial child murderer.

They both had the same goal, save their people. In fact Gaster's plan results in less people dead.
Yet people cheer when Gaster gets hurt and feel bad for Asgore.

I feel bad for them both. They both deserve forgiveness if they're willing to change. Asgore is, Gaster wasnt. Its as simple as that.

One could argue, that quickly killing bunch of strangers, because you are bound by word given to your subjects, is kinda more tolerable, than turning life of your own offspring into inexplicable unpredictable neverending hell with no obligation whatsoever and satiating your curiosity and need for control in ways unrelated to breaking of Barrier.
Also, it helps we are there seeing captivating comics of Gaster's shenanigans, while we didn't really see much of Asgore's actions.

If I have seen this comic long time ago, let´s say... when Paps and Sans were still being tortured, and we had no insight of Gaster´s way of thinking...

it becomes kind of painful to see him like this, even if it is not cannon...

However, and as always, the emotions are just THERE, plain as day ligth. I don´t think I will ever be tired of complementing just what an amazing artist you are and what an honour is that you decided to share your world with us.

Thank you.

I thought that when I said that zarla can draw it beautiful it was visible I meant both pretty art and this being sexy in sorta BDSM way. Since there obviously was no consent, it is oposite of safe and it seems both Goopy and Gaster are slipping deeper into madness, it should be uncomfortable, but it is only fiction and very well made fiction, so it can be enjoyable. Compassion and desire for justice or vengeance aside.

I barely feel any vengeance anymore for him...."vengeance" Is some what of a problem for me! HOLY SHIT IS IT A PROBLEM! but anyway, I see him more like an injured puppy. quite literally, but now also his past makes my heart melt. I just want to save him in a way?

however the darker side of my soul just likes to see anything injured and...

That was listed like other reactions, ones had by other people in coments, that the picture elicited. So "aside".
Same, same. He got me hooked up by being bastardy but smart and conflicted and making me curious about what and why is going on and revelations about his prior life sealed the deal. Saving him is very desirable. He would stop hurting himself and others too. And I suppose it appeals to ego too, cause being THE saviour tastes like glory and satiates instinct to nurture.
I am not sure how dark that is, it probably partially depends on purpose. Do you like to traumatize, or do you like feeling of affability an encounter with someone hurt and open provokes? Vulnerability is intimate treasure, especially with someone who does their level best to hide it 24/7. So when it resurfaces, it is even more precious. And once again, opportunity to care and sooth and then perhaps be loved back. And, you know, since he is the one in the weakened state, you are the one in control, power, ability to be benefactor. Or opposite of benefactor. That feels good. Also undergoing suffering makes one admirable. The appeal of martyrdom, even if this specific case is not so much a willing sacrifice, he is as if gaining karma credit by being on receiving end of pain. And with some time I could probably think of other reasons. It is fascinating and it is also fascinating to go and search for reasons why it is so fascinating.
Sure, sure. And good luck in finding person close enough.

I am somewhere in the middle ground here. While I know he deserves punishment for what he did, he didn't do something to have a punishment go this far. See, Gaster is a monster, but not a monster, get what I'm saying? He didn't do it for the lols, but there were motives behind it that if you step back a moment, you could see where he's coming from. Same thing with Asgore.

Think back to the Undertale game. Oh yes, there are monsters who deserve death, but does that mean you have to become a monster and deliver a punishment far worse then they deserve?

But I somehow get the feeling that the human is gonna find him in his gray room, then is gonna try to save him. And then Sans and Papyrus (since they don't remember him) are gonna help and then he's gonna come back, and then everyone gets their memories back, and then Sans will punish him even more! Oh my gosh, if that actually ends up happening I think I'm gonna die on the spot.

Hmm, I don't know. From the very beginning until the present day Handplates has been an AU that fits perfectly into the Undertale storyline and universe. It would be a very bold move to break that consistency after all this time. I would personally prefer it staying the way it is, but...

If Zarla would choose to bring Handplates out of the shadow of the original, the plot could be much more interesting.

And of course it would be nice to see Gaster getting a bit more involved in the story again, aside from casually being erased and tortured by some weird goop monster off-screen.

Okay, I definitely see your point on the first bit. I also enjoy the fact that it remains true to the storyline of the original (handplates aside since Sans had removed his right hand from his pocket before and we saw no plate at that time).

For the second bit, this is true, if the story was brought into the full light, things would be able to take more turns than they are now while still under the original game's thumb.

And for the third, yeah. A lot of people came here so let for the Gaster screen time (not me, I came for the whole enchilada!), so bringing him back would definitely please a large portion.

Although, another alternative to the idea of him coming back and Sans giving him a beat down is Papyrus getting him outta there before Sans even realized what happened, then when Frisk finds out what happened to the skelebros as kids (by some way or another), they break their true pacifist route and kill Gaster, finally giving him the sweet release of death. (I know, I'm a terrible person)

Yes he deserves punishment. Yes he deserves a good beating for what he's done. But to see a bunch of you actually enjoying seeing Gaster in this much pain and begging for death but is denied it just so he can suffer more makes you as sick and twisted as his experiments were, if not more. If you take amusement in seeing others in pain, you're not human.

Deserves a little change in perspective. Turning the tables. Is all the work you've done really worth an eternal hell of your own making, Gaster? You're hurt, hurt others, are betrayed, and then face the punishment again and again, perpetually tormented as you once tormented others. He now knows what it's like to be Sans or Papyrus, completely at another's mercy, but when pleading for mercy, all he offered was pain. And now...when Gaster himself is crying out for mercy, he can't expect any will be given to him now. Those who show no mercy are shown none in return. That's why there's the saying, "A little mercy goes a long way." However...through such contemplation, isolation, torment, and pain, he might become numb to it all. He might come to terms with his past and try to make amends. Dawning black to fight the darkness around him. After all, this amalgamation here expressed respect for the future Gaster, someone who stood a chance against it. Therefore...what is Gaster to become in a place where only pain and darkness thrive? What can he see? Does he see the world through a glass wall he can't influence or break through, or does his perception observe through Sans and Papyrus? Quite a mystery. I'd love to see his outfit eventually change to a black cloak or something like that myself, maybe a hood in the back. Who knows. It would be fascinating to see what he becomes.

I've seen some people think that the goop monster is a future version of Gaster, so it got me thinking that if it is a future Gaster, is this him literally beating himself up for his crimes?  I mean it's no secret that people can be hard on themselves and he knows that what he's doing to the brothers is wrong but he's constantly trying to justify it.  Zarla has done other little sketches and a short story of Gaster owning up to his crime and taking responsibility instead of denying it.  On the flip side there are comics of him trying to cover it up, but those are hilarious.
