Sans and Papyrus’s respective issues can clash badly at times. It’s even harder because they both don’t remember where those issues even came from and really have no idea how to deal with them. They’re just kind of fumbling blindly.
So many echoes from things that don’t exist anymore! Papyrus’s is more positive, and Sans’s have a pretty distinct theme going on. I also wanted to reference this scene but couldn’t quite find a way to fit it in anywhere. So just keep it in mind I guess, haha.
You can sort of consider this as the darker flipside to Sans’s inner thoughts about scarves. Same thing, just in a different light. Similarly Papyrus’s thoughts showed up when he first learned about making friends.
Also, Where The Hell Did Sans Get Gasters Jacket?
Unlike Papyrus, Sans doesn't feel that he needs the friendship or recognition of others to be happy. All in the world he needs is his brother.
But Papyrus doesn't feel the same way.
Sans realizes this for the very first time, and it hurts him immensely.
It's not about miscommunication. It's about the realization that Sans' company alone will never be enough for Papyrus, and no matter how much Papyrus apologizes for this, it's a fact that's not gonna change.
Where Papyrus is Sans' entire world, Sans is just PART of Papyrus' world.
To Sans, the reality of this must be incredibly lonely. Especially considering that up to this very point, he was convinced that they were each others' everything.
( Just me? Ok)
Handplates is a good comic too and I cried at least 10 times while watching the dub ;-;
I think i might like this comic better than actual undertale
