I'm gonna be one who goes out there and critiques this photo. You certainly inspire me and always have awesome photo's to look at. I actually think you have done much better than this but that doesn't mean that it isn't good.

My first reaction to the photo is one of equilibrium, I feel like i'm falling over cause the deviation is noticeably crooked. I am not sure if that was the intention but with the water shooting up crooked really makes it apparent. I think maybe the intent was to have the water shoot into the sun so that is why it is this way.

I love the sun in this photo, you typically have dark and dreary shots, which personifies you and really is your style. This seems to move away or combine a sense of brightness with the usual dark tones. I really like that as the mixture certainly works well. Building and tree details are nice and have the old Zardo feel to them. Love the clouds wrapping around the sun almost trying to choke it out as well. I honestly think this photo would have done very well as a landscape as there seems to be a bit too much darkness towards the top and it would have given more detail to look at as far as green grass and structure.

As usual the impact and vision of your photo's is stunning. It really comes down to personal taste in photography for those that view your photo's as you do very well with technique and vision. I would love to see you shoot some more colored and lit up shots as well as some modern cityscape shots one day. Nonetheless you are one of my top inspirations here at dA so thanks for always contributing great photography.

well it is crooked... but to be honest i dont think it was the camera that was crooked. i think the fountain is crooked. Because if Zardo wanted it to shoot straight into the sun... he would have made it do so, and to me... the fountain isn't shooting straight up.

look at the fountain compared to the water shooting out of the water spout... doesnt look off to me. but again, nothing is ever perfect  something i like about this picture. Even if its off center... its a natural reaction for someone to "freak" when something isn't perfectly straight or even =P

but again its to the beholder ;)
nice picture Zardo!~

It can be hard to critique someone with such a following without being careful. :) First, yes the fountain is the one that is crooked and not the camera. When critiquing I find that it is imperative and fair to all to just talk about the things that pop out (good and bad). Its noticeably crooked, and to many that is good and to many it's not. That's the beauty of art is that it's an expression, some like and some don't.

I was actually questioning Zardo (in shooting the photo in the first place) as only doing it to aim the water at the sun because the photo is crooked and I know that is something he noticed.

yes, i know ;P but i thought you meant over all the entire picture was off when really it was the fountain giving that illusion...

i find a funny picture of Zardo trying to reach into the fountain and straightening the water spout :giggle:

first thing that crossed my mind was that it's crooked as well.

The strange slant on this, how it's turning into itself, is so different from everything I've been looking at today, I've spent so much time just staring into this photograph; you never cease to amaze me.
It looks like it's about to rotate and turn upside down, it reminds me of the movie 'The Fountain', it contains the same warm tones and abrupt change in color that the entire movie did (and has nothing to do with the fountain in the middle ).
The building is captured beautifully as well, it appears to be leaning into the water, which is shying away. You've always taken beautiful architecture pictures, but this one is by far my favorite that I have seen. All of the elements outside the walls of the building work to make it all flow into each other seamlessly. The way it all cuts off into darkness at the top gives it a finality, the clouds bend and twist towards the sun, giving it an incredibly ethereal glow.
You've outdone yourself.

woa, génial! J'adore les images avec des opposition de couleurs et/ou d'éléments. Et dire que tu as réussi cela sans truquage ou photomanipulation; le bon angle, le bon moment, vraiment cool.
