This is the journal that is going to act as a 'guide' for my current project with Frank and Jimmy and all those dudes (it has yet to be named). I will probably change the title, although 'welcome to hell' is pretty appropriate at the moment. I'm gonna update here as I add more stuff/complete things because I want an easy place for people (mostly me) to find everything. I am horrendously unorganized with everything I do so this should get interesting.
I am planning on making these story arcs a legitimate comic series but god only knows how long it's going to take me to do that-
I'm mainly using this as a trial for something I want to do with characters I've been working on for around three plus years now. That story is much more put together and coherent but I have nowhere near the artistic ability to do it (they're all humans) so I'm working on not making my anthros look like they crawled out of a meat grinder and then I will move on to that when I feel confident enough (which could be a while). But I do plan to put work into this project as well since I do really like what I have so far.

So... Eclipse
DA just doesn't seem to understand its audience. This is not a very professional site. This is a place where people come to share fanart and original characters. Of course, there are plenty of professional artists (a lot of whom still use this space to share their own characters and fanart), but if you go on the front page, it's pretty obvious what kind of stuff is most popular here. DA has always been a fun place for people to go, no matter skill, no matter interests, and share what they've made. I feel like, in a way... Eclipse is trying (maybe not as deliberately as some think) to ruin that.
It just amazes me how much we've been ignored. I will admit that some people have been very, very rude to the team (calling them cunts and telling them to fuck off is really immature, grow up and please stop doing that), but it really feels like our concerns are being brushed aside. I've found very few people who actually do like Eclipse. They have made some changes in regard to what we've been saying, but the majority of our complaints and suggestions have gone unseen or at least ignored. There are some things I like about Eclipse (dark mode is awesome, every site should have a dark mode) but the majority of it? Nah, I'm good. I just wish we'd be taken more seriously than we have.
If I find a new platform where I can easily take commissions, I may move there. This account isn't really geared to what I'm doing anymore, so it wouldn't really be a big deal. But I don't want to leave. I'm going to try to deal with it and see how it goes.

I'd like to organize a proactive event to show DA the possible results of a permanent Eclipse change-over. Instead of deactivating your accounts for good, or indefinitely boycotting the site, I'd like to make a Statement of Silence for those Users against Eclipse. Starting May 1st, I will not be active on Deviantart. I will not submit new deviations, journals or even visit the site for 3 Days time. From 12:00AM CST May 1st to 12:00am May 4th. (3 days) I ask all other Users who wish to keep old Deviantart to join me in this statement of silence.
Not Only Is Eclipse Difficult to Navigate, It is so close to Plagiarism it isnt funny. How they aren't in a Lawsuit with Artstation is beyond me!

It has come to my attention that eclipse will soon be made permanent but as far as I know NOBODY likes it, the current version of the site is perfect and most of us have been using it for years and we do not want to be forced to accept this change. Having Eclipse as an option is awesome, love the idea. Having it as ONLY option however? Big no no. I am certain at least 50% of the current DA users will leave, if not more.
My idea is, let's make a huge journal and bring it to the attention of those who run DA, kind of like a petition.
DeviantArt has been my safe place ever since I was 12, never had a single issue with the site as it's really clear and easy to understand, I will fight to keep it approachable by the new artists as well.
"New" doesn't mean "better" DeviantArt.
Eclipse surely looks more modern, more "professional" and interesting, but it's a mess, it's hard to navigate, it removes a lot of the functions
