Hey there folks! So for once, the reason I haven't posted anything in a while is because I've actually been powering through a lot of programming. Yes indeed, I've been getting the basic functionality working for a game project of my very own.
It's a strategy/tactics game very much in the spirit of PC classics like X-COM and Jagged Alliance, more the latter than the former. It's also about mechs! YES!

Now that I've finally gotten a good chunk of basic function
So I've been watching Penny Arcade's Strip Search (a webcomic artist competition haha), and it's given me the kick in the pants to actually get back into making 2D personal work in my spare time. Got a new bit of mech art up now for the first time in ages, and I'm going to try to keep this going. There's a ton I could improve in that picture still, but I want to start working a lot faster and not risk losing interest by overdoing anything. For the next one I think I'll try doing a more interesting pose and composition, probably using a mech I've already made instead of improvising. We'll see how it goes!
