Mandalorian Armor Update by ZacicVolkshed Mandalorian Armor Update by ZacicVolkshed
This is my Fan Expo 2011 Mando gear, its not exactly what I wanted due to other issues popping up eating up the time I had to work on it. Im really proud of my new Helmet and my belt, all custom built. Im really happy with the belt in particular, I know how to sew better then my mother now and Im proud to say it lol. Im about to open up doing custom belts for peoples mandos and holsters, Im working on doing vests but its hard XD.

I still need to add some kickass armored boots and better thigh plates.

I made that belt myself from my own designs :D, and I made the one gauntlet using templates and the other I designed myself :D

holy shit.
Would cardboard be a good material for making a gaunlet?

you could do them out of cardboard but i suggest if you want to go the low cost way, make them out of foamboard, its stronger then cardboard.

Where can I buy foamboard?

pretty much any craft store, it comes in different colors and sometimes even different thicknesses.

Interesting. To make the gaunlet I would just have to cut it and hot glue it together, right?

pretty much yes, make a template or get one off the internet, cut out the shapes and hot glue it, using corner braces too will make it sturdy.

I do spend a bit of time on there, but I feel like its cheating if I buy it from someone else, all of my stuff is handmade so each time I redo it I can get better at it, my first belt is awful compared to my new one [link] , just look at how terrible it is XD, thank god for sewing machines!

You did an amazing job.
Will you be selling any items?

Well, you should do the ESB armor.
Though, will add the light-up chest plate?

Freaking sweat!
The visor is pretty sweet looking!
Oh and if you dont kind me asking, what kind of paint did you use to paint the nerf dart gun?
Reply
:iconzacicvolkshed:
ZacicVolkshed Featured By Owner Oct 26, 2011  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
Thanks! :D.

For the nerf gun I used a black automotive primer for the base coat and then I used a satin black for the actual paint. using model paints and some different techniques to give it the metal look.

well the first one would go for probably $100, BUT id much rather build you a nice new, better, stronger one for around $200, that would be all painted and with a visor and all the stuff, unpainted it would be around $170. You could design your own one too if you wanted :D, I love building custom ones.

I wish I had been there D: You guys all looked so cool, despite some dancing getting off, but who cares? All that matters is that you had fun - and it sounds like everyone dug it anyway C: I know I did. It isn't everyday you get to see a bounty hunter dance to their heart's content. Oh, and by the way, I totally laughed when the guy next to you lost a piece to his outfit and threw his hands up like, "Nooo!" - so great. Was that the guy in your other pictures on your account? The one who built his helmet with you while you built yours?
