I don't even know anymore by Yxanr I don't even know anymore by Yxanr
I have spent so much time on this, you have no idea.

I wanted to make a drawing that looked really good, but then I realized I don't know how to make something look really good, so I used it as an opportunity to learn. So basically, I spent like a bunch of time experimenting with different things, different styles, different techniques. Originally, I planned to also work on drawing faces (which I suck at) and I also wanted to give it a background, which you can see it is lacking. However, I'm not even sure if I'm done with it, so I may end up doing those things or just drawing something else and trying stuff out.

So as you can see, the linework is cleaner than I usually do, and the paint job is messier. So I guess I flipped those. I don't really know anymore, I have spent way too much time on this.

Seriously, I feel kind of narcissistic spending so much time on a drawing that's supposed to be me. I hope it wasn't a complete waste, but I don't know yet. We'll see when I draw the next CBcomic.

Which brings me to my next point: I took an unspoken 2 week break from drawing Catastrophical Biohazard over winter break. Then I forgot I was going to start up again this week. I will, however, start up again next week. Mustn't keep my fans waiting. And by fans, I mean Will...

Edit: wow, looks like I forgot to add the highlights into my hair. Doesn't really matter, they're pretty much gone now, since I haven't had them touched up. Soon though, I'm gunna go wild with it, though. My paranoid mother wants me to not do anything until I get my acceptance letters from college, but once I do there's gunna be half a fricken rainbow on my head.

Hey, Will isn't your only fan ;p
There's so much improvement I don't even know where to start, but first off I love this new style.
The clothing is so well done, the lighting on the folds looks great, and I know I could never draw a gun that good x3
It might take a while to make, but with results like this, it's worth it. I might not always leave comments, but I'm always reading your comic :)

Thank you very much. :) I'm happy to know all my hard work wasn't a complete waste, haha. Will's been the only one I know to consistently read my comics, based on in-person conversations with my friends, but now I know I have two people who read them. That's literally double the amount I thought! :dummy:

Would be cool if I had more fans, but that also means more people to be disappointed every time I skip a week or draw something extraordinarily sucky. I suppose more people will migrate here when I'm ready for it. That's kind of how life works.

Anytime! :) Haha, well you never know, I'm sure you have more fans, they're probably like me and have a bad habit of never leaving comments :XD:
I'll be worrying about the same thing soon too, we've given it a lot of thought, and hopefully me and my boyfriend will be starting a comic
in the near future ;p

Really? Wow, nice. I've noticed you haven't posted anything in a while, so it'd be neat to see regular updates. I do like your art style.

I think regular updates for me right now means once a month, but I'll try and change that ;p
Have any tips about making a comic that I should know?

What kind of comic are you planning on doing, anyway?

I don't want to give too much away, but it's dealing mainly with demons, and some of the characters are Angel, Celeste, Zodiac, and Hunter ;p

Hm, well I'm still learning the ropes myself. Main thing is to take any chance I get to draw, since anything could happen depriving me of free time, which happens often. Other than that, make sure you have a solid idea for the overall story, something that will last, and make sure you have at least a general idea of how the page you're drawing will look before drawing, and maybe even think ahead a couple pages.

Example: I've been working on next week's page since Monday, and I have the page after it completely planned out.

Other than that, just have fun with it. That's the most important thing. Any personal project dies quickly if you don't enjoy it. I've learned that the hard way. If it's something you love, you'll find time for it.

Alright, I'll keep all that in mind :)
I think my biggest problem will be finding the time to actually work on it, I mean, yes I want to draw all the time, but school work is just as important. Since I won't be working on the comic alone, it might be easier to keep the ideas coming, but we'll have to see how everything turns out. Thanks for the tips, hope everything goes great for you too! ^^

I know how it goes. I have such little time during the school year, I end up drawing during lectures and such. I'm planning on transitioning into making the comics digitally for chapter 2, but doing so may drastically reduce the consistency of my updates. However, I think if I start worrying more about the quality than the quantity, it may help me get better as an artist. I just hope I can find the time to do it. I have so many irons in the fire, it's ridiculous. The comic is the only thing I'm able to do consistently [other than school, of course, which (annoyingly, I might add) takes priority over everything]. I can't wait for college. From the community college courses I've taken, it seems like college will be overall less busy than my high school.
