You have my utmost respect for creating this comic. It so wonderfully appeals to various kinds of people; such as the idealist and the realist. But, especially, to the dreamer in all of us. We have to face the truth that we live in a broken world and that our generation must put right all the wrongdoings of our ancestors. Because it is unclear how much time the generations after us will have. And this comic so beautifully illustrates this. It is the world we are living in and it is more crucial than ever to make a difference.
I can proudly say that this comic is most beautiful and extraordinary piece of art I have seen since I stumbled upon this site. Thank you for providing us with something so wonderful.

so, first of all, as a PerChiMerican (my affectionate little portmanteau for Chinese-Persian-American) who spent the vast majority of her life in Shanghai and Beijing (roughly 17 years), there's something about this webcomic that really really resonates with me. i'm starting to remember all sorts of things - the sars posters, the salt hysteria, those masks my mom would make me wear whenever i was heading outdoors, and, much later on, with the advent of smartphones, the AQI reports i would religiously consult everyday.
so far the only thing i find really questionable with the narrative is this plot device of "idealist" vs "realist". i don't know, i think you're (and sen is) underestimating the revolutionary potential behind the flying of those kites. i mean, sure, it began as the project of one "idealist", but the kites are symbolic of the defiance of a chinese populace tired of pollution and the corruption of politicians and business practices. i mean, if umbrellas could have been used as the icon for the recent umbrella movement in hong kong, which has been, all things considered, pretty effective, why the hell not this? you've already shown us the grassroots potential of the "knite" movement when fei manages to rally enough contacts to cover a pretty significant space with false stars, and i can naturally see it becoming an underground political movement that's notorious enough to attract local attention, even media attention (well. at least before it's all censored to high heavens lmao).
still, i'm really enjoying the story so far, which is why i'm even thinking so much about this. the familiar tropes directing the narrative - they really make me nostalgic for my weedy, awkward teen years when i really enjoyed manga and anime, unironically. i think a part of me still hasn't graduated from that. so. thank you so much for all the 心血 you've put into this comic

Knite is so beautifully sad and conveys a message that needs to go around over and over again.
It also makes me want to build a kite with a fairy-light tail though it has absolutely no purpose whatsoever. Or maybe it does, it would make me happy for a while, the sort of happy I was capable of as a child. If only those darn batteries weren't a part of the equation.
