First things first, I launched a Patreon for my costumes, dancing, and costumed dancing, of which I have a ton planned for the summer and the future beyond that! Become my patron if you feel so inclined. Let's see what happens!www.patreon.com/yupuffin
Additionally, I just wrapped up the little organizational bits from returning to dA after a hiatus. The main change here is that I have gotten rid of the "OLD STUFF" folder and moved all of its deviations into my Scraps section. "OLD STUFF" was a folder for outdated deviations that no longer accurately represented my interests or artistic style, but they would still show up in searches and the "More from YuPuffin" section, so sometimes they appeared to still be current when they really weren't. But I don't like deleting deviations, because I have spent hours searching for an old piece of art I thought I had lying around, and when I'm in the right mood I find it especially fun to flip through my old art. ("This was when I was into Bleach
, and this was when I was in that roleplay, and then I found out about Wild Adapter
" ... etc.) This has reduced my number of deviations from approximately 970 to more like 460, so I moved about 500 scraps, or over half of my existing deviations. I reckon that's a much more accurate number, as my deviation-submitting frequency has declined drastically as I've gotten older and my free time has gotten less and less.
Now as deviations get outdated, if they do, I'll move them straight to scraps instead of keeping them in the "OLD STUFF" limbo.
I kept some deviations that were submitted years and years ago (and hence might be called "old") but are still at least somewhat relevant, like old cosplay photos and anime/Vocaloid fanart. That way, if you feel like it, you can see my progression as an artist even just sticking to my main gallery.
Of course, if you wanted to flip through my hundreds of scraps to see what I was up to when I was 13-16 years old, you can do that too... I'll warn you, it's a bit of a black hole in there.
That being said, another reminder that if you want to see all of my doodles and sketches, you should watch my scraps, because I rarely finish everything these days but I still doodle a ton
and hence I'll probably be making regular submissions to my scraps. (Heck, maybe I'll stick some WIPs in there every once in a while).
