Monument Valley 1

Went to shoot the solar eclipse on the Utah Arizona border and ended up with this shot of Monument Valley. Though my shots of the eclipse fell flat, I didn't expect much armed with only my 50mm and 11-16mm >.<

Your fantastic work has been featured in Friday Night Features.

Monument Valley is on Navajo lands, this was shot as close as I could get. Many people just stop and shoot from eye level. I got down below the lowest barb wire fences and shoot the cracks to create something in the foreground. I do feel that the lighting could have been more dynamic. And yes I used a 11-16mm Tokina.

Eh, with photography, don't worry about what everyone else is doing, just look for your own view of things. I can't afford the really good equipment, or to travel right now, but I do what I can with what I have. At some point, you will be looking in the right direction at the right moment, when no one else is, and get a shot that they would all envy.
