Description

THIS IS THE LAST PAGE I WILL POST ON DeviantArt.

In case you want to know where else to follow my work, you can find the details in this journal for now.
Departing from DAThis may have been inevitable at the way things have been ongoing. And I'm definitely not the first. I am planning to break away from Deviant Art. I had already opted to stop posting art pieces to this site. But now I'm contemplating on leaving outright. I simply cannot continue to pretend I am okay with what they are doing with this site. Why I am leavingIt is obvious to me what the current mentality is of the company running the site. I understand there should be a means to make a site profitable to keep it afloat. But this isn't it. Being the middle man in transactions is fine. The fact that they want to take a chunk of the profits is also understandable. DeviantArt is definitely on the more expensive end in that regard, compared to other sites through which I've handled my commissions and subscriptions and that's why I chose to continue using other means through which to handle payments. I can at most call these payment services they offer on site redundant and too pricey for both the vendor and the buyer. What I am not okay with, is the fact that users can sell AI generated images on this site, and it is in fact ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED to do so. Of course they have been pushing everyone to sell with their obnoxious pop-ups. But their particiular featured artists that have been making profits are all people who let AI make the art. Can you imagine it? Someone just types in a few words in a system, a system that is trained on stolen works of other artists, gets an image out of that, and proceeds to SELL that to someone. That REEKS of a scam. Why would you even pay for that? Speaking of DreamUp, I was there when it was first introduced. I read the full article on it back then. Originally you had to manually opt out every art piece you hosted on their website. ONE. BY. ONE. By the way, this only opted your works out from THIRD PARTY software. IF you wanted to opt out of DreamUp, you had to fill in the google survey sheet that was linked in that same article. At this point it's not even clear if this is still the case. I actually feel uneasy thinking about this now, in regards to anyone who may have missed this article and may have unknowingly never opted out of DreamUp specifically.Where to find meI do not have a solid plan B for a new place to host at but I will continue to add them to my profile as I find new places. I will gradually start deleting art. The comic pages will stay, but I will eventually stop updating my comic entirely on here as well. So here are some places I'm at for now.Comic FuryCara Tumblr (Art Blog)Tumblr (Wanted!) Tumblr (Tear the Heavens Asunder)To all the Art Exchange and Gift Art PeopleDo not fear for the art being lost, I'm still keeping it in my storage. If you happened to miss out on saving them prior you can message me to get access to it.
