Hunger churned in the beast's belly, drool dripping past his jaws as it stalked through the night. Those crimson eyes peered through shrubbery and undergrowth at its paranoid target. Perhaps somewhere in there, there was a voice of reason, but for now, it was long gone. There was a moment of hesitance in their prey's movement, and they took the opportunity.
