I am glad that I can download your work so that I can learn more of how materials should look. I wasn't sure how much specular concrete had. I was pretty sure that it absorbs most light which made me download just to see because you had it in your pack. It seem that it was just the painted line which I guess my thought's were right. Thanks for helping me learn.

It depends on how you want it to look.
I noticed that some concrete are more "reflective" than other, depends on their smoothness.
Be sure that raw concrete has a very low specularity.

So if you have broken concrete building and the rubble was in pieces, rebar, dust, etc. You would probably have very little spec (except the rebar because its metal) because of dust and rough surface. But if you had more of a *new* jersey wall on the side of a road that would be more smooth therefore more reflective?

Yeah, that's the idea.
I know I made them a bit too "reflective" but ingame (or not) it would be less that visible, especially with a global illumination.
And all depends on how people set the values. They still can increase or decrease the effect.

True. Plus its really what it looks like in-game anyway. Thanks :)

Very nice! Do you know how to turn it into a png or jpg file?
Yughues's avatar
Maybe you should try to open them first before asking ? ;)
iceblink1999's avatar
I opened it.. I mean turning the texture into a png or a jpg file to use to texture a mesh...
Yughues's avatar
Open them & save them as jpg or png... that's how it works on photoshop & gimp.
Else Google is here. ;)
