A hunting feeling

The cool breeze blows against my back as I travel down this path I once knew. I shiver as I was not expecting it to hit me so deep. Walking past these flowers, I suddenly freeze in my tracks. Sensing I am not alone. My ears perked up, as rustling leaves moved behind me. I quickly turn, my eyes searched the tree lines, the hairs on the back of my neck tingling. I could not see what was there lurking in the shadows, but I felt their stare. Was it the hell hounds coming for me? Was it the forest spirit fairies looking to cause mischief? Was it you? I gasp for air now realizing the I had forgotten how to breath. The feeling of uncertainty faded away as quickly as it had come. It is time to move on.
