I love this shot, I think it is one of best. The closest thing I'll ever get to an Ansel Adams type exposure.

Summer Holiday July 09 The area was a great recreatational area with plenty of paths and bike trails. There isn't much of story behind this shot. I just found this perfect spot and the light was constantly changing because of the clouds; it was nice to watch the different areas of shade and light moving around and I think I captured it as well as I could.

I respectfully disagree with what someone else said about the trees, I think they're perfect and balance out the composition nicely. Otherwise there would be too much going on on one said and not enough on the other (since the mountain slopes out of view).

It's all a matter of taste. This shot was taken in quite a hurry because of changing lighting conditions so I didn't have as much time to think out the composition however I think this was the best way I could have taken it

This is a great picture, but somehow I can't help but think that the three little trees in the foreground are too massive compared to what else is going on in the picture. It might be different in the colored version, but in BW this does not work completely.

I am still learning how to use GIMP but it can be useful at times.
I think the pointy shaped tree balances well with the pyramid like mountain in the background.
